Auf unserer Anreise zum Caravan Salon 2022 in Düsseldorf hatten wir eine Übernachtung in Urmitz geplant. Leider waren dort alle Plätze belegt, also fuhren wir etwa 10 km weiter nach Andernach.
On our trip to the Caravan Salon 2022 in Düsseldorf, we planned an overnight stay in Urmitz. Unfortunately, all the places there were occupied, so we drove about 10 km further to Andernach.
Die Stadt liegt im nördlichen Rheinland-Pfalz am Rhein und am nordöstlichen Rand der Vulkaneifel. Aufgrund ihrer geografischen Lage war sie lange Zeit eine wichtige Hafenstadt, die durch die Zölle auf den Warentransport über den Rhein zu Wohlstand kam. Heute ist Andernach bekannt für den höchsten Kaltwassergeysir der Welt.
The city is located in the northern Rhineland-Palatinate on the Rhine and on the northeastern edge of the Volcanic Eifel. Due to its geographical location, it was long an important port city, which became prosperous due to customs duties on goods transports across the Rhine. Today, Andernach is known for the world's highest cold-water geyser.

Gysir Andernach
Ein Besuch des Gysir ist nur von der Rheinseite aus möglich. Die Anlegestelle für das Ausflugsschiff Namedyer Werth befindet sich direkt gegenüber dem Gysir Erlebniszentrum.
A visit to the Gysir is only possible from the Rhine side. The landing stage for the excursion boat Namedyer Werth is located directly opposite the Gysir Experience Center.
Die Fahrt zur Halbinsel, auf der sich der Gysir befindet, dauert etwa 20 Minuten. Die Fahrpläne des Ausflugsschiffes sind so gestaltet, dass man rechtzeitig zum Ausbruch des Gysir ankommt. Alle zwei Stunden schießt eine etwa 60 Meter hohe Wasserfontäne mit frischem, etwa 20° warmem Mineralwasser in die Höhe. Das Naturschauspiel dauert etwa 15 Minuten.
The trip to the peninsula where the Gysir is located takes about 20 minutes. The schedules of the excursion boat are arranged in such a way that you arrive in time for the eruption of the Gysir. Every two hours a fountain of water about 60 meters high shoots up, with fresh mineral water about 20° warm. The natural spectacle lasts about 15 minutes.

Der Wohnmobilstellplatz ...
The RV park ...
... ist ein gebührenpflichtiger Wohnmobilstellplatz 8 Euro/24h für 70 Wohnmobile am Stadtrand von Andernach. Der Platz ist geschottert und weitgehend eben und liegt zwischen dem Rhein und der Altstadt. Es gibt Stellplätze direkt am Rheinufer mit tollem Blick auf den Rhein. Die Altstadt ist nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Es besteht die Möglichkeit der Frischwasserversorgung 1 Euro/100 Liter und Strom 1 Euro/1,6 kWh. Allerdings gibt es nicht genügend Stromsäulen für 70 Fahrzeuge. Die Entsorgung von Grauwasser und die chemische Toilette sind in der Stellplatzgebühr von 8 Euro enthalten. Die Zahlung erfolgt bei der Ankunft an den Platzwart. Es gibt ausgewiesene Rad- und Wanderwege.
... is a paid RV park 8 Euro/24h for 70 motorhomes on the outskirts of Andernach. The site is gravelled and largely level and is located between the Rhine and the old town. There are pitches directly on the banks of the Rhine with a great view of the Rhine. The old town is only a few minutes walk away. There is the possibility of fresh water supply 1 Euro/100 liters and electricity 1 Euro/1.6 kWh. However, there are not enough electricity columns for 70 vehicles. The disposal of gray water and chemical toilet are included in the pitch fee of 8 euros. Payment is made to the groundsman upon arrival. There are designated cycling and hiking trails.
