We watched this 20 years old movie on Prime Video.
The quality of the pictures reminds us of its age, but the scenario is very well handled.
This story was not written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but inspired by the legend of Sherlock Holmes.
A few years after the accident where Mycroft Holmes became impotent, Dr Moriarty is chased by Sherlock, in search for revenge.
Sherlock's ability to solve puzzles and deduce the latest events in the lives of people he meets on the street will soon convince Dr Watson to join forces with this young but extremely perceptive detective.
Sherlock Holmes' role is played by James D'Arcy, Moriarty by Vincent D'Onofrio, Dr Watson by Roger Morlidge and Mycroft by Richard E. Grant.
The only female main character, Rebecca Doyle, is played by Gabrielle Anwar.
Sherlock Holmes is a character I adore. He is a gentleman and a detective, I haven't read any of his "adventures" yet, but I already have one or the other book in stock.
We had a great time watching this American-Romanian-British film. For the faint of heart, I would point out that Dr Watson is a forensic doctor and therefore has to perform autopsies.
