Growing up, my role model was my sweet mom, I didn't grow up with her but she was the best, I still miss her till today. We weren't in the place or the same state but she made it feel like we were, she was an angel.
My mother was a hardworking woman, even if she is tired she will always stand up every day especially when she had to do to the farm she would wake up early so as to finish everything on time before sun came out. She had two of her grandkids with her so she had to do everything possible to make sure they eat without having to wait on my siblings and I to send her money.
Sometimes when I call her to complain about how hard things were for me, she would listen to me and give me advice and the last thing she would say to me is, “No matter how hard life gets, don’t give up. Keep going for the people you love.” Her strength taught me to never give up, even when life feels hard.
My mother was also very kind. She always helped others, even when she didn’t have much herself. On several occasions that I traveled to visit my parents, I saw neighbors come to ask my mom for food that their children haven't eaten and my mom will take out of the little that we have to give them knowing the food won't even reach us to eat. And when I ask her why she gives when she knows that what is left won't reach us to eat, she would tell me that when you give the little you have to those in need, God will replenish it for you when you least expect.
When my mother passed, it felt like a piece of my heart has gone with her. But I knew she would want me to be strong and live by the lessons she taught me. She was not just my mother; she was my guide, my teacher, and my best friend.
I will always cherish her memory. May her soul rest in perfect peace.
