Today, being Saturday, is one of the days I have dedicated to working in our garden. Unless I travel, I always work in the garden every Saturday. I don’t have much time to work in the garden during the week because I am committed to my primary assignment as a teacher. Don’t forget, I am also a fashion designer. However, these days are laced with a heavy workload. I have to attend to my child, work five days a week as a teacher, and dedicate the remaining two days to working in the garden. I can barely say I have a free day, except for Sunday, which is often reserved for worship in church.
In this present time, it is important to prioritize what we eat and focus on growing our own food, particularly vegetables and other plants essential for providing nutrients to our bodies. This has become even more crucial due to the influx of fake products that have invaded the market like a plague. It is rare to find any product without its counterfeit counterpart.
It is appalling that food items meant to nourish our bodies have turned into harmful substances. Not to mention the proliferation of fake medicines. I often wonder how people who perpetuate such evil can sleep at night. These days, it has become incredibly difficult to distinguish between fake and original products. Even so-called supermarkets are stocked with counterfeit items, including food and beverages. It’s no surprise that people don’t live as long as they used to in the past. Our grandparents often lived beyond 100 years, but now, what is considered old age is merely adulthood or even youth by the standards of the past.
Only God can save us from the hands of those flooding the market with fake products, all in the name of acquiring wealth that they can not take with them when they are gone.
For this reason, I have decided to prioritize working in the garden. Even if it can’t provide all the food we need, I believe it can cover about 40 to 50 per cent of what we eat. It’s shocking that even products like diapers for children have counterfeit versions. I was horrified to see how these fake diapers caused injuries to my child.
This is all a result of a society that only cares about what you bring to the table. No one questions the source of your wealth as long as you have money. The sad truth is that only the rich have a voice in today’s generation.
