Let's continue the hiking tour through southern Sweden
Last time I finished by taking a rest near a little creek in the middle of the forest. I didn't really meet any people along the way, and if you have never gone solo hiking this can be both a pleasant and also a bit of distressing situation. Especially when you are younger (which I was when making this tour). But eventually you tune into a slower pace of rhythm balanced with the nature around you. It's all a question of mindset really!
I discovered tracks that day, but I guess it was only a smaller animal (no wolves!), maybe a racoon or a badger? If you know, let me know!
As it is generally speaking quite wet in these areas, there are many amphibious animals as well as dragon flies. One even made friends with me :)
And of course (depending on the season) you will discover many many mushrooms. As I don't know much about them (especially in terms of eating them) I just left them where they were standing and took some pictures which reminds me of a quote:
Take only pictures and leave only footprints
when you are in nature.
The nice part about this area is that you won't be completely alone in the woods. You will once in a while stumble upon some houses which are lived in. It's an unexpected surprise seeing a lawn that is freshly cut in the middle of the woods! But Swedes love their private places in nature!
I made rest for the day in this little shelter. It's not much, but just enough! I was always happy when there was a fireplace around so I could make some food.
In the morning I was greeted with a beautiful scene: fog on this lake which I was sleeping next to. Real magic!
This day took me to many more lakes with a scenery that I could never get enough of. The water is so fresh and clean that you can just drink it! The only thing missing perhaps is a ride on its gentle surface.... but maybe that is to come! ;)
