Hello needle work lovers
Good morning to you all
Hope you're all having a fun filled day already
I want to share with you all how i made this elastic Ankara top for myself with the remaining material i used in making my elastic skirt
Recently i shared with you on how i made my elastic skirt and i also said that i felt a need to make a top that goes with it too and i actually made it.
This crop top could actually be used on different outfits which are the black skirt or trousers, white skirt or trousers and the Ankara skirt i previously made , i do not regret making it 🥰
This two piece is more like a birthday gift i gifted myself and not matter how little it seem i feel it's pretty 💖
These are the few steps i used in making the top:
It doesn't require much steps though but it requires much time on the sewing machine
Firstly, i took a measurement of myself which were the bust, waist, length of the top , the hand etc
I used the measurements of my length and also used the body measurement multiplied by two to cut out my material
I then divided that material into two
After that, i folded one of the material into two and cut out the armpit
I placed it on the second material and cut of the same part i did in the other one
And this is when the real deal started.
I picked the first part of the material and started sewing with my elastic thread, i made each edge of the top as tiny as i could so that it will attach to the body and not leaving the edges open and in the middle part, i sewed less than half an inch each
This was when i completed the first part
I did same with the second part
I then joined the two of them together
After this , i proceeded to cutting the sleeves of the cloth
I put elastic in the hem of the sleeve
And then i carefully attached the sleeves to the top
And that was all concerning the top 🥹💖
It looked good on both Black skirt,
And the Ankara skirt
That was all concerning the top, i got a lot of compliments when i stepped out and I'm glad it turned of well
Thank you so much for viewing my post
Have a nice day everyone 💖
