Today I will show you how I cut and sew a straight gown.
Here I have my Ankara material, lining, skin net zip, and my breast part or breast tube which ever name you choose to call it.
First thing to do is to fold my material by two to remove the down part of the gown for the front part and after that I place the front part on the other side of the material with my two inches allowance for my zip, and cut it out and this is how it looks after cutting.
Next I cut my upper side of the gown by 11 inches, actually it's suppose be sixteen inches but because i will attaching my skin net at the upper side so removed six inches out from the sixteen inches and I cut the back side and front side by eleven inches, when you remove six out of sixteen you are to have ten but I added one inches for my sewing allowance, and I also cut out the front part which is the breast tube side also by ten inches for the length and from from nipple to nipple is eight inches but I added one inches for my sewing allowance and this is how it looks after cutting.
And I also cut out my hand by twenty one inches and this is it.
Then I proceeded to cut out my lining for each part of the gown I cut out cause everything will be full lining on the dress, and I also cut out my skin net for the upper part and also the one I will attach to the back side, After cutting everything I proceeded to put in the lining for each part and also fix my breast part and skin net for the both side.
This is the back side after the lining.
And this is the upper part of the gown for the back.
And this is the front part both the upper side and down part.
After lining up everything I proceed to iron before joining them together and also fix my hand This how it looks after everything.
Thank you
