Hunting a 'Kuva Lich' in Warframe

in #hive-1402172 months ago

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

There are a lot of different weapons in Warframe. There are different sets of weapons unlocked and earned from different pieces of content within the game. One of the types of weapons are 'Kuva' weapons.

These are special variants of the base weapons carried by 'Kuva Liches', a sort of mini-bosses from the Grineer faction. There is a long process of attracting a lich and killing it. You will be rewarded the weapon that the lich spawned in the first place.

It all starts when you are doing your normal star chart missions, those featuring level 20 or more enemies. The lights will flicker anytime during the mission and if you kill some x numbers of enemies within a few seconds, a special enemy will appear with a random Kuva Weapon.

You need to mercy kill that enemy to get a Lich after you. But if you don't like the weapon it has, you can just leave it and complete the mission. When this enemy spawns again it will have another random weapon.

The first time I did this, I was unaware and just Mercy killed the guy without thinking anything. I didn't even see what he was holding. I got to know about this Lich thing when I saw my star chart and saw that the Earth is all red and the mission rewards are deducted as tax to that Lich guy.

Anyway, this time I knew what I was doing. I was looking for two weapons, the Kuva Nukkor and the Kuva Grattler. I had to redo the missions a few times to get the Kuva Grattler. Only then I kill that guy.

Doing this will make a Lich control the Earth and steal mission reward items. You can kill this Lich with another complex mechanism. But if you fail at doing it the Lich will grow in power and level. And will go to the next planet. Mine jumped to Mars after I failed to kill it on Earth.

But how do you kill it?

First, you have to make him annoyed. You do this by doing missions in the territories controlled by him and defeating his 'Thralls' there. When you mercy kill these Thralls, they will fill a meter which will tell one of the 'mods' required to kill this Lich.

To kill it, we need to put three Requiem Mods on our Parazon (for Mercy killing) and we have to guess the correct order of those three mods. If we attempt to kill the Lich with the wrong order, that Lich will become stronger and hop onto the next planet. It can get up to Level 5 and he is quite strong at that level. But you will not need this many failed attempts if you are not very unlucky.

In the above screenshot, you can see three red symbols, these need to be found and the correct order needs to be guessed to kill that lich. All of your failed attempts will be shown on the left. In my case, I guess the first two were right but the third one was wrong. (That first mod is a special mod which can take the place of any mod but you can't put more than one of those).

Finding the right order takes a lot of time. You have to annoy it for it to appear in the mission, so you have to do some missions on each planet before the lich appears and only then you can attempt to kill it. This is a very lengthy process but you get to have a strong weapon at the end of it. So, it is worth the grind, especially for some of the weapons. Ideally, you would want at least one copy of all the weapons to rank up and get the mastery rank points from it.

You will be able to see the requiem mod name once your meter is filled up by killing enough Thralls and you go back to your Orbiter. My third one was Vome. And you will see that some of the items were stolen from my rewards. These will be returned to me once I kill him. How dare he take my precious Credits and Endo!

I had to kill a lot of 'Thralls' to know all the three mods. And the next time it appears, I can Mercy him with the correct order. But this won't be enough either. He will try to fly to Saturn in his Railjack. So, we have to go there and vanquish him.

I spent a couple of hours finding out all the requiem murmur and the right order that I should put these mods in. During this time, I made two failed attempts to kill him and now he is at Level 3. But this will be his last one. I will hunt him down tomorrow and get that powerful archgun. I really need the power of this Kuva Gruntler weapon. It is a top-tier weapon and shoots explosive heavy rounds. But these are used in space fights not so much in normal missions.

The grind is a bit long but it is worth it. These weapons go up to level 40 as well unlike the other level 30 weapons. So, you can put more mods and gain more mastery rank points out of those.

I am still at MR 15 and will cross this rank in a couple of days. I still have a lot of crafted weapons in my Foundry but I am not claiming them yet as I don't have free weapon slots.

Thanks for reading!

Man, I have a cousin who really loves this video game, I once played it with him and it was very exciting, it is the first game of the genre that I got to play that was of this style, the Warframe costumes are very amazing.

Warframe is quite unique in so many ways. At this point it is like its own genre. Too many things going on in it.

I thought the First Descendant was all the hype now. Did you try it? I think I read somewhere that it's similar to Warframe.

Yeah, it looks very similar to Warframe. And saw some talks about it in the Warframe community too, but haven't tried it yet. Too occupied with Warframe at the moment. xD
