Adding more plants to Mom's garden
A garden is very much necessary in the winter, as we need flowers every day to offer to God. Apart from that, looking at these flowers, brings happiness and reminds her about me, when I am not there. Even though she keeps telling me to not take so much pain, I know, she loves them, and she tells this because her love for me is more than plants, and she thinks I should not work so much always. But I also don't give up doing my best for her, so when I went for our cricket match, I asked her about the state of plants and she said, they are not growing very well, as she is not able to take much care of them. Winter is a very difficult time for her, and she still manages to do minimum things for survival, as Dad do not do anything. I did not tell her, but picked a lot of plants from the nursery, to add to her garden.
They were very carefully kept at the back seat area, to prevent any damage. And usually it takes a month to grow a sapling to this state, so this saves the time to grow, while still enjoying the outcome before the Winter goes away. Our Winters don't stay long after January, because as per our calendar, the day becomes bigger from Makar Sankranti, which was on 14th of this month, four days back. So the more time it remains, the merrier it is, but it will surely go away by March. Now let me show you some beautiful photographs of plants :
Every year, they prepare a lot of plants in pots for the Flower show, as its a govt nursery. They won't sell them at any cost, but they still had plants for sell, which was good for me because of lower cost.
Impressed by the growth of these plants in these little packets, I handpicked the best ones. And now let me show you something special, that I experienced for the first time.
Fly Inca - they are smaller than any other types of inca and have this peculiar name - this is the first time I saw this plant and they also tried this first time.
And they were collecting the seeds for next year - I asked them how to preserve the seeds and I am going to try again this year. I have always failed to produce saplings from seeds, but won't stop trying.
They have people to transport them and keep in the vehicle.
It took more than half a day to replant them, but this was the last build of this winter season.
Did not have enough soil to transplant all, so had to leave few of them as is. The Chrysanthemum plants did not grow well this year, even though their childhood was brilliant. Mom even cut a big plant to have some sunlight at this area, but that did not help a lot. Next year, I may revamp this set up, we will see, life does not go as we plan. For now Mom is very happy with the outcome - it sets the mood in the morning, isn't it ?
