After nearly two months of waiting, our Amazon purchases have arrived in Cambodia after passing through a series of freight forwarding agents.

Ā  Ā  Ā A few months ago my family and I purchased several things on Amazon to have shipped to a Cambodian freight forwarder in Long Beach, California. Although not cheap, the Cambodian air freight forwarder in the USA can send things to the nearest shipping agent in Cambodia for a fraction of what DHL, FedEx and UPS could do for it for. For electronics or hard to find culinary ingredients, this is our go-to way of getting stuff from abroad.

Ā  Ā  Ā Srey-Yuu had previously ordered herself a refurbished iPad Mini 6, keyboard case, Otterbox case, bluetooth mouse, and within this packaged she also received an old Apple watch and Apple pencil that my mom contributed to the packaged.

Ā  Ā  Ā My mom in the USA made a deal with Srey-Yuu that she would pay for half of her electronics purchases, and I had already agreed with Srey-Yuu that she can pay me in HBD for her purchases. Srey-Yuu has a pretty good deal for herself, but soon she'll be sad when transfers several hundred HBD to my account. Srey-Yuu sees her items as a Hive investment though , and lately she's been putting greater efforts into her blog, so I'm sure she'll earn back the money quickly.

Ā  Ā  Ā Little sister Monkey-B received many more things than Srey-Yuu, all big in size but light in weight and price. The freight forwarder in the USA only calculates weight, so LEGO boxes and board games are quite cheap to ship. Monkey specifically wanted her own chess set, so that's what she got.

Ā  Ā  Ā We aren't wealthy by most international standards, and even in our rural village here in Cambodia, we are near the bottom of the economic scale, but because we live efficiently, don't gamble, drink alcohol, or smoke cigarettes, we are able to live what we feel is a comfortable life. That being said, our whole life can fit in 6 to 8 suitcases, so two packaged of goods from abroad is a pretty big deal for us.

Ā  Ā  Ā Call it Christmas in Cambodia I guess, or "Holiday in Cambodia," I think that was a punk song from the 1980s. Well, what I mean to say is that is the mood we are in when we receive a package from abroad. Srey-Yuu grabbed the knife and began wildly stabbing the second package, but luckily she didn't put a hole in her secondhand iPad.

šŸŒæ Cat Crack Doesn't Tempt Meow šŸˆā€ā¬›

Ā  Ā  Ā ChairWoman Meow has proven herself to be a master of self-control, so I decided to test her with grade A feline street drugs, catnip to be exact. Unfortunately she sniffed the catnip and showed zero interest, a true communist kitty towing the party line.

Ā  Ā  Ā Monkey-B got herself a kid version of a smartwatch, not expensive, but it has an SD card for tunes and some built-in apps. This was a surprise gift from her grandma.

šŸ“± iPads & Harry Potter Stuff šŸŖ„

Ā  Ā  Ā I gifted myself with a new webcam because my previous one had a cable that was chosen by rats as a chew toy. After trying to find a way to replace the cable for nearly a year, I finally decided to buy a whole new camera, such a shameful waste. My old camera won't be thrown away because I know in other countries it's possible to buy a replacement cable and have it installed by skilled folks.

Ā  Ā  Ā Srey-Yuu began glowing when she saw her iPad, and the timing was perfect because her previous iPad was not only outdated, but the screen was recently destroyed after falling from the loft in the ladder. I'd like her to repair her old iPad when she has the funds and keep it as a backup device.

Ā  Ā  Ā Monkey-B and Srey-Yuu both like all things Harry Potter, so they were both quite excited about the Harry Potter CLUE boardgame and UNO cards that I surprised them with. I don't have as much time to spend with my girls as I'd like, so Monopoly is out of the question, but quick games like UNO and CLUE are something I can partake in.

two months is such a long time to wait. you and your family are very patient.

that's a lot of stuff inside! Im happy for your daughters, they look so happy with teh new things they had.

The wait helps to make receiving the packaged even more special. I am most of all glad to Srey-Yuu get some tech upgrades for her Hive-related income.

yes, me too, I'm repairing old phones for my child to continue her way on hive. It was successful DIY but the phone seems obsolete already. it's laggy

I hope the phone can work until you find a more modern replacement in the future.

Christmas magic looks extremely impressive in that country, particularly in your house ā™„ļø

Haha, thanks bro, no decorations, but we were certainly in the Christmas mood while opening our gift from the USA. Now Srey-Yuu has the most modern device in our household.

Two months is too long in my opinion, but the situation of our country is not very good in this regard. Let it be good that the hidden treasures have reached you properly hee hee.

It is a long wait, but compared to other shipping methods, it's the only affordable way to get stuff from abroad here.

I bet the mood of receiving and unboxing is undescribable sir. Early Christmas gifts

Indeed, it was a bit of a Christmas feeling when we all gathered round to open the box.

The children were so happy to receive several gifts, when they opened them there were several gifts for them, they were smiling very happily, always happy for you dear, I was happy to see the smiles on their faces.

I smile when I see my girls smiling, so it was a win-win for all. Srey-Yuu loves her new iPad and she's already making good use of it.

Yes, you are absolutely right, parents when they see their children happy, we will feel the same way, you and your family are always happy, I'm happy toošŸ‘

It seems that you really love all the things that you purchased in the Amazon. šŸ¤— Especially to your two beautiful daughters. They look so excited and happy! šŸ¤—

Although the shipping is expensive. it's cheaper than all of us traveling to the capital city, renting a hotel room, and spending days trying to find all the items in local stores. Of course the thrill of receiving a box is a great joy for us too.

oh I love Legos. I'm glad that is something that kids are still interested in. That package must have cost a relative fortune to ship from the States!

Expensive indeed, well compared to local forms of shipping. $3 a kilo for most things, a steal though compared to DHL or FedEx.

I got lots of stuff dad and you are the weirdest person on the planetšŸ¤Ŗ

I will take that as a compliment my young daughter šŸ¤Ŗ
