Weird Vibes At The Photo Shop πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Smoke πŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈ & A Cat πŸˆβ€β¬›

Recently my wife and I took a trip to the photo shop 45km away in Pramaoy, the last outpost town with modern amenities like 12th grade, print shops, donuts, and things like that.

🐷 Pigs & Envelopes 🧧

Β  Β  Β I have never been to this print shop before, well, at least I don't remember, perhaps I did when we lived in Pramaoy for 6 months over 2 years ago. As many businesses do here in Cambodia, this place offers many services and products. The bread and butter of this place was clearly printing, photocopying, and photography for weddings, IDs, etc., but this guy was also slanging piggy banks, picture frames, and wedding invitation cards.

Β  Β  Β My wife was here to get some passport style shots for visa use and other things, so I waited in the "lobby" while she did her photos in a room with a ceiling lower than I am tall. I took a seat in the waiting chair and looked above me to notice a rubber strap made from a motorcycle innertube stretched tightly above my head and touching the top of my turban. I stayed here until a customer came in and created slack in the line, coiling the bungee on my upper body.

Β  Β  Β What I'm trying to say I think is that you should visit Cambodia, it's weird here, but in a good and amusing way. The thing is I've lived here so long I know why that strap is there. You can see my motorbike outside parked neatly along the edge, nice and straight, but Khmers will often park with their tire nearly touching the door, completely blocking the entrance and allowing for door to only open on one side. I don't understand why so many people do this, perhaps a lack of awareness, but the shop owner clearly is going to risk someone shattering his door on a motorbike fender or tire.

πŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈ Time To Smoke

Β  Β  Β After getting back home I wanted to cook, but as usual the ladies have ruined the seasoning on my wok, so I had to burn some layers back in and get my carbon steel wok back to glossy black. In Cambodia everyone uses aluminum and non-stick woks these days, but I'm old school and still use steel and iron to cook my foods. For this reason people have lost the art of taking care of cast iron and steel pots and pans. Sometimes I joke with my daughters that it shouldn't be the white guy telling Asian girls how to take care of a wok πŸ˜†.

Β  Β  Β Not satisfied with the amount of vegetable oil smoke I inhaled while seasoning the wok before dinner, I decided to make a fire afterwards and have some more. ChairWoman Meow joined me by the fire for a bit, but lost interest when she realized there would be no grilled corn on this night. The rainy season is coming soon, so campfires will soon be a rare thing to enjoy on special occasions like a dry day.

Β  Β  Β So, I discovered this recently in my daughters' room, a cat bed of some sort. Apparently Monkey-B, my youngest daughter, made this cat lounge on side between the wall and her side of the bed. Her room is a mess, but she clearly spent time to get this little space just right for Ms. Meow, and on this occasion I can't fault her because our cat obviously loves it. Even when the girls are in school and I'm home alone, Meow often visits the cat lounge and takes a nap. Alright, that's all for now folks, just trying to get a post out because it's been a while.

I’ve been wondering why many people nowadays are using a nonstick pan and I’m also wondering what’s the difference between nonstick and the steel that we formerly used? I’m sorry for my ignorance. I just know that we can’t use a steel laddle also to a nonstick wok, why? Hehe. Based on my observation, it’s easy to wash the steel especially if it is layered with oil.

I can’t believe how rude are those people who don’t park their vehicles properly. Personally, did you ever experience some of those people like they were also rude at you? How did you handle it if your grown up culture is different from them? It maybe hard to live in another country at first but you get used to it. If we’re new in a country, we have no idea how to please some people since we every country’s culture is different.

What a good cat you have because my cat refuses corn.

The nonstick pans are very convenient, but the chemical coating is something we eat a little bit of with each cooked meal. The aluminum pans are very soft and release aluminum too, some studies show this is linked to Alzheimer's disease. I am not sure about your country also, but here in Cambodia there are still iron deficiencies in some rural parts due to dietary problems. A cast iron pan is a natural way to bring iron into the diet because it's an essential mineral.

Haha, I have gotten used to parking culture in Cambodia, still frustrating though. Sometimes I laugh the most when I about to bend over and pick up some fruits or veggies from a vendor and someone parks right in front of my face and blocks my access to the things I was going to buy. I think people are just distracted and selfish, a huge problem here, but I've seen it all around the world to a lesser degree.

Cats are so funny, each one seems to have certain things they like. I was surprised to learn my cat likes grilled corn.

Yes friend you can be a great scientist if you are a groom. Your writing talent brings out the childhood stories. Monkey-B, my youngest daughter, discovery brings great joy to your daughter all the time. I always radiate love to you and all your family.

I have no idea what the first sentence means, but thanks for stopping by with some kind words.

Yes friend I hope you will become a bigger scientist with time.

I would love to visit that place and brought piggy banks, the designs are very great and I appreciated it my Friend.

I think chairwoman cat had a really good time Nap, disturbing is no,no, for her. 🀣

A very strange atmosphere, but I love when shops sell various things that are unrelated to each other. We once bought a rabbit bank in this style, but it caused all the money to grow mold, so we stopped using them.

I would love to visit Cambodia or any weird part of Asia although it might be unfair to say weird it's just different, anyways we are separated by almost half the world so it's going to be different, your cat as always cute and sleek, no food not interested πŸ˜…βœŒοΈ

Haha, yes, weird can be good, but nowhere is weirder than Indiana in the USA, so I'm pretty comfortable with weird. Our weird cat needs no litter box of food either, we just leave the window open and let her do what she needs to.

I think Thailand and Cambodia are similar. Maybe because we are neighboring countries.
My granddaughter likes these piggy. If little girl saw many piggys, the little girl would be happy.
Have a great day friend.

Yes, I see many similarities in both countries, especially the temples and way of life in the countryside. I think Thailand is much more modern, reminds me of the USA, but many parts of Cambodia are still very poor and lack basic healthcare, education, etc. Thanks for dropping by .

the design looks good, I like looking at it, I remember the meow's very cute behavior as if he was a host who never cared about anything, the smart meow πŸ˜€

She is terribly cute, and I thank for keeping our flour and wheat safe.

love the cat bed. It looks more comfy than my bed
