It always brings me joy when families gather especially when it is my own. I mentioned in my last post that on the day of our wedding anniversary, we traveled to Negros Oriental to spend the holidays with my family (Father and siblings).
Our week-long holiday started with the Baptism and Birthday Celebration of my nephew. The son of my only sister. That was December 29, Sunday. His Baptism was quick and solemn.
We attended church service with my brother and his family (one who lives in Lapu-lapu City.) They also came home for the event and the holidays. Together we attended the baptism and church that day.
Of course, we did not forget to take a photo for remembrance. It was a once-in-a-lifetime event for my nephew and the rest of the family.
The Birthday Celebration
After church, we drove to Zamboangita from Dumaguete. The venue for the birthday celebration is at Sea Horizon Resort. Families and friends gathered and joined in the party.
All of my siblings were present with their spouses and children. Also our Papa. There was a lot of food, the children went swimming in the pool and we also had karaoke.
This milestone of our nephew's life has brought our family together. It was on that day that we were able to gather completely. It is a rare opportunity for our family to have such moment. Being together in one place.
So we did not waste time and took photographs.

You might be wondering where's our mom, she passed away years ago. Our father has remarried but his wife did not attend this celebration.

So lovely to look at! I am personally happy that we were able to gather. Everyone made a conscious effort to be present. We all traveled far to reach the venue. Especially us, we came from Cebu. 😀
It was worth all the time, effort, and expense to experience such a moment with family. We all have our own family lives to take care of but I am grateful to my brothers and sister for spending time with our family.
Time is precious. Especially now, our father is not getting any younger. He will turn 74 this year and my prayer for him is, that he will have more years of life. My children love their Grandpa. They look forward to our visit with him and his visit with us here in Cebu.
Life is short in general. Spend it wisely on things that matter most. That's why, whenever we can, we visit my Papa and brothers and sisters and spend time with them. We value time and family relationships. I mean who doesn't right? We don't know how much time we have so spend it with the people you love.
