Greetings healthy eaters of this wonderful community @asean.hive. Let me greet you a positive Monday first day of the week let's schedule our thoughts for a good start of the week. Can I ask you guys what's your favourite breakfast in the morning? I used to have cereals or hotcake. Hotcake was also the very first recipe I've learned to cook. Mom thought me how to make it with her easy recipe. There are instant hot cake mixture that not no needs egg but mom taught me to put even one. It will be more tastier and delicious too.
I will never forget the first time I cook hotcake the water was so many good thing my grandmother help me to fixed it up. It went to many that we we're able to gave our neighbors.
After grandma cooked it, it was the same taste as mom. Hot soft and delicious 😋😋 I can eat it everyday without annoynment. The toppings was endless, we have chocolate or honey syrup with margarine. Or margarine with sugar, condensed or evaporated milk. Im craving now but disappointed because I can't make any special hotcakes for my kids. But I learn to make simple hotcake using the ingredients inside our house. And I want to share my simple recipe on how to make some hotcake with a twist.
Ingredients
2 large duck eggs
1/2 cup of flour
3-4 tablespoon of light brown sugar
1/2 cup of water
1 small sachet of cocoa powder
Cooking oil
Powered milk (optional)
Butter (optional)
Procedure
Mixed all the dry ingredients then beat the eggs. Gradually add the flour after it thickens gently add the water. Mixed it througly when it's foamy add the cocoa powder. The purpose of cocoa powder is to remove the fishy taste of the duck egg. It's also add flavour, we don't have chicken egg and we get ducks eggs for free.
Cooking Time
Preheat a pan then pour a small amount of cooking oil. Scoop a mixture with your ladle then pour into the pan. In a low heat patiently wait for the hotcake to be cooked. And were done, we ate as it my son dip it into sugar, if we have spare money we bought some condensed or evaporated milk. Just a quick tip duck egg will make the pancakes hard when it cools down. So you need to eat it immediately after cooking. So if you have chicken egg better used it instead of duck egg's. This recipe reminds me of my childhood days and I hope you learned something from my recipe.
