Hi all, welcome back to my #running blog!
Last Tuesday I ran at a temperature of -3 C , today 3 days later, it was 15C. Which is a great reality check for the NN Marathon Rotterdam 2025, as exactly this happened last year! My whole training camp was at temperature around 0 C only to have the race well above 20 C (and I had 3 layers of clothing 😂)
Today was beautiful, I did a mid distance , recovery run so I can still be a little more careful with my knee that has been giving some early signals since last week.
During the run, i was able to reflect on last week and made a plan to action to improve some complex situations. For which I find low intensity running one of the best vehicles. It works both ways, while zoning out you can analyse the situation and take different perspectives & when you keep your mind occupied you are not focussing on running so you will be able to keep running effortlessly.
Today I took a mid distance route with different undergrounds, mud, gravel and asphalt. While my shoes are holding up - I am looking forward my appointment early March to get new shoes measured and personalized as my 2 pairs did over 2200km since May 2024 and are fit for replacement!
But here 2 new pairs will cost me at least €300 and I struggle to find time to break them in properly before a new race. But now I have come to a point where waiting is no longer an option..
Happy running!
