At least we now have an idea what he looks like and if he is living or working in our gated community he will be found very soon.
Last night was a busy night for our neighborhood criminal when he struck two houses within the space of 6 hours. I have seen the video clip of him inside a house further up our road and another clip where he was sealing odds and ends from an outside room which he then left behind.
The community was again complaining about the guards today and they just do not get it ad must be as dumb as the guy doing the robbing. We have a face picture of him and now they are arguing amongst themselves whether it is legal to have a photo of him placed at the main gate. People tend to overthink what is right and wrong these days worrying abut the feelings of a criminal when in the meantime someone could be seriously injured before we catch this guy.
I still stand by my belief that this guy is within the community and is living here possibly as a hired hand. The one house was broken into at 7am this morning after the owner had left for work at 6.55 am. Those left inside the house heard footsteps, but thought it was another family member so they never checked. That for me s too brazen for my liking and everyone needs to wake up because this is too easy. The other house had his window broken and he does not have burglar guards. In South Africa this is a must have plus an alarm system connected to a private security company commonly known as armed response. These houses are not cheap houses and if you do not have the basics for protecting your property what do you expect.
I have to admit I have not paid much attention to this matter yet as up till now it has only been 3 houses being hit constantly and now these houses are across the road and is ow more random. Funny enough across the road within our community is a safe house owned by the police and I need to check if that is still the case and who lives there.
This is only a matter of time before he gets caught and obviously our house is off limits for this guy because he must have seen our dog. I myself will be more vigilant now and will be a little more active at night as I have only done a few patrols since last week. This will take a community effort to get this fixed so people need to stop complaining and get off their backsides and help. It is always the houses who do nothing make the most noise and why no one pays attention to what they have to say.
