Happy new day hivers and my fellow members of @gems. I hope everyone is doing great!? And I hope you had a productive and fruitful week? More life. I'm here again with another realistic charcoal portrait. I want to present to you a realistic portrait drawing of a very beautiful child. I got the picture from the internet while surfing.
I really love her pose, so I couldn't ignore the picture. I sat down and thought of how I will bring this same picture to life with charcoal and brushes, then I remember a particular quotes by Nelson Mandela which say "It is always impossible until it is done," so I gathered my materials and started working one square of the grid at a time.
Materials
Paper | gloss paper |
---|---|
Size | 20 X 24 inches |
Pencils | charcoal pencil and powder |
Eraser | Tombo mono zero and nataraj vynil eraser |
Camera | Infinix mobile phone |
Duration | approximately 5 months |
Location | Home |
Here are the steps on how I did the portrait.
I drew my grid lines and made my sketch then started shading it gradually. Starting with her face and it's features. I wasn't in a hurry since it was my personal collection. I was even taking commissioned piece in-between because clients were still asking for portraits. For detailing, my tombo mono zero eraser was very helpful for lights, highlights and fine lines, making it real and accurate. everything went well. This job is actually my greatest masterpiece for the year 2020. I used to work more at night so I can see my phone screen well and follow every single detail. It's one of my biggest portrait of that year. I was painstaking about my job and need plenty of patience so I don't rush it through.
I hope you love it as I have decided to share it with you.
