Hello there, it is my pleasure to greet you all again after an absence that left even my sister wondering if I even existed anymore. Yes, I know, it was a while ago. How long exactly? Let's keep it a simple "WAY TOO LONG".
Some of you know that I am dealing with various health issues. So let's just say that in the past period, my body has protested louder than an adolescent who has to clean his room. And of course, normal life doesn't take that into account, so just to keep that going I needed all the energy. It felt like I was in a dark corner of the internet reading my horoscope and couldn't understand why my zodiac sign had failed me. You get it, not fun!
Decorations
But now let's look ahead to the DECORATIONS that made me crawl out of my cave. And I tried to make my house cozy again for the coming festive period.
What is there to say? Decorations, I love them!! I still want to go all out, especially at Christmas, although this year it will be a little less exuberant than other years.
My partner and I both love Christmas, and we absolutely love the towns and villages that you can buy everywhere, every year we have actually added one more to our collection, except last year, and this year it is not possible either. This is because we want to have our garden tiled, both front and back, and everyone has to make choices in this life. So we now choose to save money so that we can have the tiles laid, preferably today, but that is not possible. So that means that we are left with 1 large mud bath both at the front and the back...... at first it was sand, but with all that rain in recent weeks, it is mud.
Back to the topic, decorations!!
On the back of the sideboard is our stone house village, of course with a garland of lights through it and some lights in the houses. Because what is Christmas without lights?
Christmas Diner
On our dining table (which we can't use for Christmas now, hahaha) is the Christmas group that I already had, mixed with the Christmas group that belonged to my parents. Well, with a different stable, because my parents' stable has literally fallen apart due to old age. But we found another stable at the thrift store that looks very similar. And I made a stable myself from a storage box, which I have now used for the sheep and the shepherd. There are also 2 of our now 3 Santa Clauses, 😀. It's a bit of a weird 'diner'.
Plant pot decorations
On the table between the dining table and the TV cabinet, there is a large plant, the pot of which I have covered with cave paper and in front of which a town stands out.
The TV cabinet shows 2 towns and a large stone snowman, which is actually a tealight holder that can in principle be placed outside on the table, but since the garden table is now parked in the shed, I choose to use it inside the house too.
Another Christmassy Town
And then on the last table, there is also a nice town on display, which is right next to the 2-seater.
The one thing my partner helps with
And then of course the Christmas tree, my partner puts it together every year, and I get to decorate it with lights, pendants, and garlands. When it's New Year's Eve, in the first week of the new year, we clean everything up together and put everything back in the attic, until next year.
This is our Christmas house this year! I hope you have enjoyed this little peak in our house.
