This sculpture is made up of over a thousand plants, painstakingly and meticulously sculpted into a killer whale with her cub. Like its real-life counterpart, the sculpture weighs a lot and requires some maintenance to keep the plants alive. It is located in downtown Victoria, British Columbia.

The whale's water spouts are actually plants. Very cool!

Among indigenous cultures, the orcas hold sacred and mythic significance as a symbol of protection, bonds, and guardianship. They believe the spirit of the wolf and the orcas is the same, thus they refer to killer whales as the Wolves of the Sea.

Beautiful photo my friend @litguru

Thank you!

Nature and sculpture united, that's a marvel to see!😍

It's a superb work of art. I think it's over three thousand plants, but I can't remember the details. :)

3000 plants? I like it more and more!

This is such a stunning blend of nature and art. The orcas look so lifelike, wow

They did a stupendous job, all the more difficult because they were dealing with live plants. It's a great sight.

wow so much effort, I believe the results was worth it 💯
