Dream come true all the time...
Being that I only post once or twice a month these days, this will probably be the last post of the year 🤔 (excluding posting on #threads)!
At the beginning of 2022 both my wife and I decided (separately) on "GROWTH" to be our word of the year.
Choosing a word to go by for the whole year has become a bit of a tradition for us, we don't really do "new year resolutions". I personally never understood what the fuss is all about... if you wanna change something about yourself or the way you go about life, why wait until a new year? It doesn't make any sense, it's about procrastination, and these things don't seem to stick anyway!
I would love to see others here take on this tradition... it really really works. If you have that word painted or printed and posted somewhere you can see it everyday, it will reinforce the intention throughout the year.
The trick is to be reminded what you that word and its intentions are all the time. The best way I found to do that for me was to have that word in large letters drawn on a piece of printer paper, and tape it next to the door, so that every time I leave the house I can see it, and read it.
The year before last, my word was Progress and progress we had!!!!
That year, our life progressed immensely. We moved out of the travel trailer to let the land breathe, heal it, and invited all the bad vibes of debauchery leave the place. We bought a house near it so we didn't have to struggle constantly with human comforts, which took all my focus. With a home that has indoor plumbing and more space, we have the time to focus on the land's community infrastructure.
There was a lot more to that year, we had a lot of progress towards our dream of building community and eco-village (which I've called a multi family homestead with anarchist tendencies)
For 2022 as I've said earlier, we chose Growth.
We both have grown in many ways, our garden grew bigger and better, our ideas changed and grew bigger, a lot of them reached their maturity. My wife realized she had a addiction and put an end to, I grew more aware of human behavior patterns being used as manipulation tools across the whole planet. We worked on growing our passive income, and coming up with new streams, our businesses grew. Our preparedness has gotten bigger, we have chickens now! We're growing our knowledge everyday on all sorts of things related to building community. I'm impressed! This was a good year.
I'm thinking about several words for 2023, building, organizing, focus, community, money...
These are all things I'm looking to strengthen in my life. Now it's just a matter of finding what takes priority over the rest. I'll make a decision soon enough, it will come to me as it always does. I think about it, and while I sleep.. well, the subconscious keeps doing work I guess!
Try if for yourself this year, it's quite invigorating. If you don't believe me, just ask me! Another thing is that you don't have to settle on a word right for the new year, you don't even have to settle for that exact word all year... you change it up as you wish, but make sure you put it up somewhere visible so that you can be reminded of it all the time. That's where the magic is!
Get out there and make your dreams come true!
