POBphotocontest New Round: COLORFUL ~ where have the jackets gone?

in #hive-1503299 days ago

With this week's contest being colorful my mind went in many directions.

Colorful pictures are easy to find, but I wanted something a little unique. After contemplating what I was going to enter for the contest I suddenly remembered all of the old vinyl albums I have and the jackets that they came in. After going through many of them I decided to include five of these jackets in this post.
Like many things of the past that have given way to modern times, I wished that the amazing art that was created to put on the cardboard covers still existed. I can remember buying a new album and getting excited about the artwork that came along with the music!

Most times the artwork would be illustrated on the back of the cover. This album is from CAT STEVENS ~ BUDDHA AND THE CHOCOLATE BOX.

This is the back of the cover for the album MUSIC FROM BIG PINK.

Each cover has a story to tell.

Even if vinyl records were to come back into vogue, you know that AI would be creating the art and not the real artists who were emotionally invested in the art they would create.

I took these pictures using a Cannon PowerShot SX530HS.

AI will be creating the music, not only the covers.

AI is a scary thing and one day may be taking over everything including humans.

My husband had an extensive album collection at one time. There was some fantastic art on the covers.

We have 4 milk crates full of albums. I always wonder if there is a market for them?

My husband was able to sell about 90% of his a few years ago…

I would like to do the same but I need to figure out how to go about it.

We had a vintage music store in town and they bought them.
