Appreciation
First off, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the organisers of Hive Learners Newbies Initiative for the opportunity to be among the selected participants in their on-going training aimed at helping new Hivers to be able to navigate and grow on the Hive blockchain.

This Week's Task
In this post, I will be answering the questions posed by @starstrings, being the Week1 task for the aforementioned training programme. Interestingly, week 1 task focuses on goal setting and I am glad for this particular topic, as I have been here on Hive for some time without really setting any serious goal. Take a look at my response below.
What is the importance of setting goals, and why do you need to do them for this initiative?
Goal setting is important because it will help me to have a clearly defined target to achieve within the two months period that the initiative will run. I acknowledge that I need to set these goals to help me create a working plan for my growth, instead of just flowing without any target in view. I know that being intentional about reaching my goals will definitely demand more commitment and setting these goals will help me be accountable to myself and to my mentors in this initiative.
What makes a goal SMART?
A goal is considered to be SMART if it meets the following conditions.
S: It must be clearly specific, not generalised or vague.
M: Measurable means there are steps to take or process to follow to be able to achieve.
A: It must be attainable in the sense that one must ensure that it can be done or it is something doable. Attainable means that it is a possibility.
R: Relevant means that I truly desire to achieve this goal.
T: Time-bound This means setting a time frame within which this goal can be achieved.
What are your goals as regards your Hive Power, Your followers, your engagement, your consistency and any other goals as a newbie on Hive?
My goal on Hive for the next 2 months is to reach the 600HP milestone and increase my followers to number 50, and this I plan to do by increasing my posting and curation consistency, increasing my participation in community contests and activities thereby increasing my chances of greater visibility which will in turn bring greater rewards. I believe this is possible considering that I am currently at the 312.5 HP mark, and I know that more consistent activity on my part will definitely push me to my goal right on time.
Analysing my stated goals above, I can say that they are SMART because they satisfy the conditions of being Specific, following a process, being possible and have a set period of time within which they will be achieved.
Strategies To Achieving My goals.
🔸️Create and follow a content calendar to serve as a guide me create quality post in the different communities I belong to, and publishing quality content at least five days per week as against the two to three days I have been doing previously.
🔸️Block out three hours per day which will be further broken into one hour blocks for posting, curating and commenting activities.
🔸️Become more active in the Discord servers of my favourite communities and participate in contests and hangouts.
🔸️Continue to power up little amounts of Hive at every opportunity I get.
So Far, this is what I plan to work with so as to do things differently from how I have been doing it all this while. I would really appreciate any helpful suggestion from you.
I am grateful for your patience in reading to this point. I hope to see you in my next post. Perhaps you could consider giving me a follow to help you know when I publish a new post
