As always, I am in search of adventures where I can enjoy and relax with the beauties of nature. For this reason, for this #wednesdaywalk I headed to the city of Cuyahoga Falls, located just a twenty- minute drive from the city of Kent, Ohio. My purpose in coming to this place was to view the Cuyahoga River Falls, which is located behind the Sheraton Suites hotel. So, we headed inside this hotel, specifically we went to the restaurant, from where you can have a fabulous view of the falls and the river. However, due to the glass of the windows, I could not take any decent picture to show you so much beauty. I took this picture, but the reflection of the glass tarnishes the image.

The other assigned locations within the hotel to view the falls were closed due to recent heavy snowfall. So we decided to walk to High Bridge Glens Park, adjacent to the Sheraton. We walked there. It was a bit of a tiring walk as the ground which was completely covered with snow.

This place has a very interesting history. This site, over a hundred years ago, was a popular amusement park for the people of northwest Ohio. Historians say that Clevelanders would take the train to Cuyahoga Falls and spend all day enjoying the park's facilities. At the time, the place had a dance pavilion, a bowling alley, a large staircase leading down to the Cuyahoga River, and even a roller coaster that was said to be one of the first in the country. There was also a suspension footbridge over the gorge, which took people to the other side of the river where they could see "The Big Falls." These waterfalls disappeared because of the construction of the Gorge Dam.

Today, this pretty little park offers a few benches, a picnic area and a gazebo, which cannot be appreciated well due to the snow. However, the main attraction is the Cuyahoga River Gorge, which can be seen from the Prospect Street Observation Bridge. From this point, you can get a panoramic view of the gorge along the river and the falls. Since it is the middle of winter, an "ice gallery" forms along the rock walls.

We took the walkway to overlook the river and bank geology. There we could enjoy the rock walls covered with icicles. We spent a few minutes and got some spectacular photographs.

Although I was a little disappointed not to be able to photograph the falls up close, I was able to enjoy this beautiful place. This park offers breathtaking views of the river and its gorge. The river itself is a source of beauty, recreation and contemplation. Also, what I enjoyed most was all the history I learned about the city, the Cuyahoga River and the falls from this visit.

[i Carry Your Heart With Me(i Carry It In]

By E.E. Cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

A pity you couldn’t get a good view of the falls but still such a beautiful area trekking through that snow must have been hard work

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

Despite the snow, I could see it from the Sheraton Restaurant, but I couldn't take good pictures because of the window glass! Thanks for passing by !

Yes I think you mentioned that but at least you got to enjoy it even if you could not get good photos
