In the top photo, my husband is getting an alligator snapping turtle to open its mouth so I could take a picture of it, They say if one latches onto you, it will not let go until it thunders. I would not want to test it.
My little brother is standing on a sunfish, they live in the deep sea but come into the river when they are sick and going to die. Many years ago one washed up at Judahs fish house and Gregg Judah thought it was a good idea to stick his foot in its mouth. The sunfish was not dead and clamped down on Gregg's foot, my husband said he thought they would have to amputate it!. He said they finally had to get a pry bar in the fish's mouth before Gregg could get his foot out.
Years ago I was going across the south bay and saw this thing sticking out of the water but every time I tried to get close to it, it would go under.
My husband pulled up to me and wanted to know what I was doing, I showed him the tip of the fin that was out of the water and told him the size of the fin but I could get close to it. I got on his boat and with his trolling motor, I could get close enough to take pictures of this beautiful fish.
This little fish is the scariest for me to get a hook out of, they have teeth that look as if they can take chunks from you.
But the shark is the one fish that will amputate it! with one bite, even the little ones have razor sharp teeth, some species even eat each other in the womb.
