This is my post for #freewriters 2634 prompt pour me another hosted by @mariannewest
When I get together with my sisters for one of our vacations, even though none of us are drinkers, there will be drinks.
Sometimes it comes in the form of a bottle like you would purchase in a store.
Sometimes, it comes to us in a mason jar. This one was apple pie-flavored moonshine. It was tasty, but after taking a good drink from the jar, you did not need to say, "Pour me another."
But when we are drinking flavored drinks
sometimes you do not know which to drink so pour me another or make me another is not out of the question.
Since we are not daily drinkers, it does not take much for the alcohol to kick in.
If you can be a happy drunk, you are not bad to be around, but if you are the type that gets angry when you drink, then I do not want to be anywhere around you.
I am thankful we are happy drunks.
I have only seen her drunk one time and the next morning was not good. I do not think she liked the moonshine or she did not try it because there is no photo of her with it.
This sister is the one who would be the first to say pour me another and when we have had enough she is still going but never seems to be drunk, she is funny when drinking and she is funny when not drinking.
It took several years before I could feel comfortable when this sister drank. Drinking is what used to be her thing that "set her off". Whenever she drank she disappeared for days, she was on the streets using crack. She has now been clean for over 20 years. And I no longer hold my breath when I hear, pour me another.
It is a rare occasion when I drink and I have to watch how much. After 3 drinks I say do not pour me another it is easy for me to overdo it and mixed with my meds it is not good for me.
This sister has fought Chorns for close to 40 years and she has beat cancer, I say if she wants to drink, I will pour her another. She is now 82 years old, she should know what she is doing and if she wants to drink, let her drink. She does not drink but on special occasions, like when we are together and we do not drink every day.
This was not in a bar, we were in an airport and she wanted to smoke a cigarette. we found a room that said international flight waiting room and smoking was allowed. That was good enough for her.
We were talking about the memories we had with different kinds of liquor when a man walked in and asked if we were on an international flight. We told him no we weren't, he kept saying this area was for them but we kept him talking until she finished her cigarette.
