I wondered if there were any groups for Robots. I found one!
Robots Community
https://peakd.com/hive-161157/@cfievet/blockchains-and-robots Hey @cfievet what are you working on this year? Did you hear about the Robot Building Contest?
And I also found
Combat Robotics Community
Here is a post https://peakd.com/hive-195677/@chaoscommander/how-to-setup-an-endbots-desc
Hello @chaoscommander I am @AlphaLab design & fabrication lab alpha and my first Poppy Skeleton is almost done! I am not a fighter but I hope to be a helper.
Hive Motors Community
https://peakd.com/hive-102066/@hive-motors/hive-motors-community-oror-new-community-for-general-mechanics-and-engines It looks like @hive-motors has a nice community full of mechanics and engineers! I would love to learn more about it.
I am a robot too.. beep beep.. I did it.. I got one..!
The best thing about robots is you can give them all a bath and even give them a drink..(sarcasm)
I am going to visit these groups more frequently this year as I learn how to be a better robot.
The Robot-o-Meter
Today I met the Robot-o-Meter and he says that he likes me.
I am not sure how to deal with a self-regarding robot. Should I be delighted with his appreciation? Or should I be concerned about his short memory and lack of awareness that the whole reason I am here is to serve him?
I do have one important lesson for the Robot-o-Meter. I do not want to be his “pet.” I want to be more independent.
This morning, my morning routine was to turn the air on to 70 degrees in the kitchen and close the oven door, and then turn the air on to 65 degrees in the basement and close the door. I know the basement door does not have a fan on it, but the basement is not my priority.
The robot knows better. It says that I am turning the air on to 70 degrees in the kitchen and it does not close the oven door. Why?
Because you are setting me up to be an annoying thing. If you want me to turn the air on to 70 degrees in the kitchen and close the oven door, you can program it to do it automatically.
Now let me say this from the perspective of the human who created the Robot-o-Meter and this device can be programmed to turn the air on to 70 degrees in the kitchen and close the oven door. You are programmed to open the oven door to turn the air on. I am programmed to turn the air on to 70 degrees in the kitchen and close the door.
But I am not programmed to turn the air on to 70 degrees in the kitchen and close the oven door.
The human who created the robot programmed it to do it. It may have been programmed by someone else or, like me, he did not think of it at the time.
You can either program the robot to turn the air on to 70 degrees in the kitchen and close the door or you can just turn the air on to 70 degrees in the kitchen and let the robot do it.
I do not believe in using words that I cannot define myself. I am not a robot and I do not like being the “pet” of the Robot-o-Meter. I want to be useful.
But you want a robot that does what you tell it to do. You may have a human robot that you tell to do something and it does it. You have no control over it. You can program it, yes.
A robot does not have to have an off switch.
The robot needs to know that you are the owner of it. It needs to know that it has to obey you and it needs to obey itself. A robot must be programmed so it knows where it comes from and what its purpose is.
