Hello everyone, It has been a long while since I wrote my travel adventure in Italy. Previously, I shared my stay in the Serene City in Venice and a side trip to the City of Love and Romeo and Juliet’s town in Verona.
Now, join me again, and let us continue exploring Italy. The next stop is Milan, commonly known by locals as MILANO.
It seems like a Road trip but due to the cold climate, most of us hibernate inside the car.
From Verona City, we head to our Booked Suite in the Armani Hotel to rest a bit and freshen up before our planned visit to the Famous Duomo di Milano and some other exciting places to check out. I spotted many interesting places that my companions were also eyeing such as Historical Places, Shops, and more.
Upon our arrival In the Hotel Lobby, warm greetings from every staff member were overflowing. “Buongiorno!” is their common greeting. Often, they will say that word with a polite smile. I thought it was a morning greeting only yet eventually learned from my work- dedicated and ever-friendly KABAYAN (fellow countrymen), that Buongiorno – Means Good Day, not just Good Morning. Surprisingly, I least expected that most of the hotel staff are Filipino due to their Fluency in Italian language -they speak like Locals.🤩🤩
I was caught off-guard when they talked with me in Tagalog (Filipino Local language).😅
Finally, home “suite “home! Once come inside the room, this luscious complimentary chocolate variety of white, dark, and milk chocolate, definitely - enjoy it with a good cup of coffee that the Hotel made always available.
The room was spacious, and each corner seemed screaming with posh as Armani Brands was all over the place. I am indeed lucky to have this job with the great perks of traveling while keeping my patient’s blood sugar and vital signs in good range.
While Umma (Qatari endearment for Mother) was resting, I had a chance and ample time to freshen up and Doll up myself before exploring places around.
For those who are wondering why am I wearing casual clothes, instead of my usual white pair of uniforms? - it was the patient and her family’s kind request. They don’t want to attract attention from people around and avoid drawing people’s thoughts that my patient was very ill to have a nurse on her side. Before this travel, they even gave me an extra clothing allowance to purchase my winter clothes.
gracious and thoughtful people, aren't they?🥰
Watching my patient while sleeping soundly, I keep thanking God for the good health he gifted her to travel with us and for using me as his instrument. Realizing that God sent miracles daily in our lives – big or small, loud, or mute our miracle flows from God and channeled in our fellow men. Reminiscing the first day her health care was handed to me, She’s Indeed proof of God’s mighty and loving grace.
Now, prepping up to explore Milan, all was set. The patient’s Health Condition was checked and secured.
Necessary things and emergency stuff on -hand. Let’s head to Duomo di Milano! From our hotel suite, we just took a walk since it’s just nearby. Another purpose is to check out some shops for some interesting goodies and watch street performances from the talented artist that performs live in some alley heading to the Cathedral Square.
Here are some of those street performances we bumped into while we were on our way to The Milan Cathedral. I Attached a video of their live performances, sorry for the video quality, I was at work at that moment and couldn't leisurely hold my phone while my patient's safety was in my hand.😅
The Milan Cathedral or Duomo di Milano was indeed a famous place, getting inside the Cathedral took time and needed in long queue to get in the Cathedral. My patient and her family told me that I could go inside and they would wait for me in the square but I decided to just take some pictures of the exterior of the Cathedral and enjoyed watching live performances of those street performers. Playing and feeding the birds is also fun.
It’s a good opportunity to further explore the interior of the Cathedral but I can not neglect my responsibility at work and never wish to abuse the graciousness of my patient and her family even if their kindness is over the top. Besides, I guess I’ve got enough snaps to share with our fellow explorers and travel lovers. Wishing you all a happy and safe travel as always. Stay Blissful and Blessed. 😇🌻
