Penny Bun (Boletus edulis)

The day started wonderfully. The sun's rays were breaking through the window. It was an invitation to get up earlier than usual.
And, so I went to "catch" lunch for us. 😀

You can guess what kind of lunch it is. One of the most delicious mushrooms for me, quickly found its way onto our table.
It's a Penny Bun or Boletus edulis.

Honestly, I was surprised by the amount I found. I found two full bags of these mushrooms. Approximately 10 kg.

I haven't found it in this part of the forest in recent years. That's why this was a surprise to me.

In my country, the price for 1 kg of this mushroom is around 5 €. What is the price of this mushroom in your country?

Porcini are considered the best mushrooms in Russia where I live, and the most expensive (well, we dont speak about the black truffles here, right?..). They are about 2500 roubles per 1kg (that is about 30 euros).

That is a very good price compared to the price in our country (Bosnia and Herzegovina). 🙂 I don't mean black truffles. 😀

Yes.... sadly. some countries have different lifestyle, some have it more expensive and luxurious (like Russia, Sweden, Dutch), some has it cheaper, like Spain & Porto. Thats why I dont buy mushrooms myself, I prefer to forage them myself xD

Sadly, I cant tell -- for sure it is not black truffle. (They have very characteristic skin texture). Maybe it is not any specie of truffle at all.
It look like Italian White Truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico), but, on another hand, many different shrooms would have this plain look. Need to cut it in half, look inside, taste it... to say for sure what it is ;-)
