Scams Eeverywhere
I am a bit nerdy in some regards and for some reason Vitamins & Minerals caught my attention since I love trying new stuff, so I end up buying a lot of this shit to try it out. But slowly overtime it have gotten to my attention that often there isn't "enough" stuff in these BLENDS, to make a difference. So I started digging and going into the weeds and this is how far I have come.
I am not done yet and I will properly never be done since new shit keeps popping up :D
First picture here of my Google Sheets, is me just googling Vitamins, Minerals & "Functional Plants" to see what I can find.
As you can see from my Sheet, finding the "Effective Dosage" can be quite hard. The Recommended Dosage is quite easy to find on Google. The Toxic Dosage can be a little bit harder to find.
Effective Dosage
Effective Dosage idea started because a lot of products states it have alot of "Functional" mushrooms in them or a blend of Mushrooms in them to "Empower your Brain" and get rid of "BrainFog" - But a lot of the products with these mushrooms in them, doesn't contain enough to make a difference for you beside jacking up the price x)
But as I went down the rabbit-hole it was really hard to find out the different dosages and how to convert what the labels said to more understandable human levels xD
I need to have a second go at this to full understand it and make it to my list.
But a lot of people are getting a boost from these products, but it might be The Placebo Effect working its magic here ^^
Recommend Dosage
Recommend Dosage is whatever your Govt recommends an Average health adult person takes. This varies depending on your Govt etc. The FDA & EMA uses different ways to test stuff and Europe is more strict than The USA.
Toxic Dosage
Since the Recommend Dosage is for the Average Health Adult Human, most people could properly take more than the Recommend Dosage and be better off, but some Vitamin's are Toxic if you get too much, so this peak my curiousity too see the levels :D
The Toxic Dosage I have found is based on Studies, but I don't know the Quality of those studies, so its not a complete list.
^ This is what I do in my free time, if I don't play video games xD
Next Stage Scams
My interest in this topic leads me to a Unique position where I can use some of things I have already found and use it to look at products & compare it with different things.
*Sidenote: Everybody can do this. It just takes time and is a lot of manual work
A good friend of my have been taking AG1 for sometime & its hard to say something bad about AG1 if you want people to listen, since its promoted by the likes of Andrew Hubermann.
But since AG1 is so expensive, we talked about it and I had heard that it didn't contain enough Vitamins & Minerals + Plants for it to be worth it. But I hadn't looked at it myself, so thats what I did. (Also, I couldn't find the article I read about AG1, not containing enough Plants to make a difference).
What you look at below, is a comparison of AG1 vs a Standard Multi-Vitamin Suppliment from a Supermarket vs Something called Supplme (Danish AG1)
Price: (This is for a One-Time Purchase, not Subs)
AG1: €107
Multi: €8.04
Supplme: €60.30
^ Some of it is in Danish & some of the values (μg, mcg & mg are wrong (Gotta go back and double check it)) Sry.
Its a whole lot of numbers! But the idea is to see if you really are getting your money worth for the extra cost and its hard because it depends on what you are going for :D
My friend want to get more Vitamins, Minerals & Plants and AG1 certainly does do that for you, but its expensive, but its convenient and he just became a Dad, so convenience is key right now. But there isn't a big difference between AG1 & Supplme and Supplme is a Danish brand and almost half price or would you be better off just taking a standard Vitamin Suppliment from the Supermarket for 1/12 of the price xD
Got any Questions? Or scammy products to share? :D
Cons of this:
I can only use the data the companies are proving me via their labels. I don't have the equipment to test it myself. That would be cool though.
