Behind Every Makeup Are Scars With Stories

You see those movies that you watch and just start clapping for the actors without even realizing? Savage Beauty was it for me. I was so blown away by everything that I had to watch some episodes twice, especially in the season one. Right from here, I’m definitely going to check if the writer, Lebogang Magoshoa has any books at all because wow!

Savage Beauty is 2022 drama series about a young girl who finds her way into a powerful family in the beauty industry( with dark secrets) to seek revenge for her tragic past. After watching the first episode and realizing it was going to be very dramatic, I just smiled and said “let’s have it!” But I was not prepared for that level of drama in any way.

I’m very keen on the kind of actors I watch because I believe the success of a movie solely depends on them and guess what? There was no bad acting in this series. Not even a single one. My emotions were everywhere when watching the move and that’s how I know how great these actors are. At one point, I was even confused at myself because I was crying, laughing and shouting at the same time.

The cinematography was just perfect. Normally, I would forward movies just to see what happens but this time, I didn’t even want to. They had a way of putting in so much details that I was left with no choice than to watch from start to finish. Honestly, I actually wanted to watch from start to finish because I couldn’t have enough.

The plot twist? It was crazy! I had my eyes popped out most of the time. They make you believe you know what is happening and then they tell you otherwise. They allow you to be able to predict some things and just when you’re not looking, they slap you with the unexpected.

My only problem with the movie was what happened to the main character. It didn’t make sense that such a thing would be done to the person the whole plot of the movie was surrounding. Of course, I’m not going to give any spoilers, so find out.

The one thing that has been occurring to me since I watched this series is that fact that revenge is never the answer. In that moment you might want to see something happen to the person who hurt you but in the process of doing it, you might lose other important things. Also, it might not be obvious or you might not know but life already deals with people who hurt us. The universe never let such things slide so it’s just best you allow it take its natural course, slowly.

I also really came to terms with the fact that people are willing to do terrible things to get what they want. But the scary news is nothing stays hidden forever under the sun. It might take years, centuries but it will surely be exposed so you might want to just do the right thing. This movie was worth every second of my time.

I have been seeing the movie on Netflix but never cared to watch it. I think I will add it to my list. Thank you for sharing

Please do and thank me later

Sure 😊

I don’t understand why some people love taking revenge on those who hurt them. Instead of leaving it to God or just letting it go, they focus solely on hurting the person even more than they were hurt. I’ll also try to watch this movie because the way you’ve described it makes me want to give it a try, even though I’m not a fan of Nollywood movies.

It’s not a nollywood movie at all.

And you can’t really blame them, they’ve been hurt and pain can let do a lot of things.
