Severance - If you like sci-fi with drama, this series is for you

Science fiction movies or series are among my favorites, and this one became one of the most loved by me since I started watching it. Severance is a series of suspense and fiction that combines drama and that restlessness of knowing the conscience of people, it is a very original production, at least I have not seen any movie or series that looks like it.

Surprisingly the director of this great series is the great comedian Ben Stiller, but make no mistake that does not mean that there is some kind of comedy in this installment, not at all. We also have great actors whose faces are well known in the film industry, that's why when I noticed who they were I said this series will be good.

So we have the masterful performances of Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Patricia Arquette and the super well known first Hollywood actor Christopher Walken among other faces like John Turturro who plays an extraordinary role. The first season of this series premiered in the year 2022 so I have 2 years waiting for the second season, but the great thing about all this is that as I had so long that I saw it this week I reviewed all the chapters and it was like watching it again, there were details that I forgot and as the second season is finally coming which excites me a lot, I wanted to be fresh for January 17, 2025 where will be its premiere date.

Well, now I want to tell you a little bit about the series without telling you too many spoilers, just to arouse your curiosity and watch it. It is about a group of people who are working in what would be a kind of office and each one is in the center of that empty white room and have assigned tasks or daily routines that at first glance seem to be a little meaningless, otherwise these 4 people work and talk as any co-worker would.

But the purpose of this work goes beyond everything, since these people at the end of their working day say goodbye each one with different minutes of departure, without coinciding at the exit, this because at the moment they take the elevator, a phenomenon happens that changes them cognitively or personality.

From what would be a series of discoveries and strange events begins, these people have a double life, because when they leave work and are in real life have no idea what position they have in their work, much less what they do, as well as that person who works does not know anything about the external being, Many of them did this for a reason, for example the main character Mark (Adam Scott) made the decision to separate a part of him so to speak for a difficult pain that is happening in the external or real life, as he has lost his wife and is in a deep depression so this is a way to help him forget the pain in the day.

All the employees are under the care of a woman named Harmony Cobel, who watches them 24 hours a day along with other security personnel, a possessive and calculating person. Something unexpected happens that makes each of them want to know what is going on with their real lives, who they are, what they do. It gets complicated with one of the refinery employees (Helly) and something happens that will change the game of everything.

I don't want to look so exaggerated, but I must say that I love this series, I have no negative comments because I feel that they have taken care of the details, the performance of each character, the art, the script is very good and it develops in a natural way, it has a calm atmosphere and it has been years since I had a clip with a series.

So I recommend it a lot, it has 9 chapters that as you watch one you want more and more, it is a series that has beautiful shots in terms of the projection of the characters. The score I give it is 9/10 and I don't give it 10 because I'm waiting 2 years for the second season (laughs). Dina has spoken to you, greetings!
