The Pitt // Hour after hour in an emergency room

Greetings dear friends who love good series and movies, today I want to talk about a series that I started watching recently. It is called “The Pitt”, I love series about doctors and medicine, in fact, I watched all of Doctor House, a little bit of Grey's Anatomy and an important part of Emergency Room, what caught my attention is that the main protagonist is the actor who was also in that series for years. This is Noah Wyle, a great actor whose talent undoubtedly stands out in each of his productions.

This is a medical drama series where we are shown the reality of doing this job in an extremely stressful situation, as sometimes having a backlog of patients or not having enough staff can be a challenging task. Plus these doctors are human beings who also have their own frustrations and problems. This series is fairly new, I have only seen 4 chapters, it is from this year 2025 and if you like this production based on the reality of what is lived in a hospital this is for you.

Well, these first chapters, ie the first 4 is based on only one day, I still do not know if the others will also be so, but to tell you a little of these without making too many spoilers or tell you what it goes. It turns out that the head doctor or the leader of all the doctors Doctor Michael, goes as usual to his work routine on a day that it seems he had not worked in years, but the reason was because it is day many years ago he had lost a friend and doctor of the hospital at the time of the pandemic. That for him has been very hard and traumatic and he has an internal struggle where he has to do everything possible so that this does not affect his work performance and dealing with his patients.

I find him to be an extremely human and empathetic doctor, but he has a struggle that does not allow him to concentrate well. There are many residents and specialists who, like everything else, also have their emotional and internal issues and struggle with graduating and leaving everything aside to fulfill the workday which is quite hectic and exhausting. Some students who are being supervised while doing their internships and as a common denominator that co-worker who wants to make your life impossible or simply wants to call you names, this is the case of a super gifted girl who is a student and is doing her internship, it is her first day and they are not being too nice to her.

The fact is that a series of things happen that make us see beyond the patient situation, everything that doctors and health personnel must live is a daily challenge, the truth is a very strong load that for example consumes a lot mentally and that they not only live a day if not daily, that is why my total admiration since I could not or I am not prepared to live a working world like that.

In the U.S. the hospital situation is very good, there are supplies and good professionals, but apparently there is a point where there are many patients who are overcrowded, so the situation becomes tense and gets out of control with some patients.

I have no negative opinion so far of this series and these first 4 episodes, on the contrary, I have loved it a lot and am refreshing my mind by watching medical drama productions that many years ago I enjoyed.

I recommend it with my eyes closed, if you have seen the series I mentioned at the beginning, you will love this one without a doubt and it can be watched as a family. The score I give it is 8.5/10 and it can go up (laughs). This is Dina speaking, Greetings
