Hello everyone!
I'm kind of new here, still exploring some different communities. Like you, I really love to watch stuff whenever I could manage time, and I thought that I could write something about them, and sharing my interest and thought with you so I could meet more people who has similar interests with me.
I'm a tabletop RPG enthusiast (who tries to be a part of the industry), and my main genre of everything is horror and occultism. I'll try to write horror/thriller/mystery/fantasy kind of posts, but I'll try to go outside the box as well. And my first post here is, Jacob's Ladder.

About The Movie
Jacob Singer is a Vietnam War veteran who tries to continue his life while having some flashbacks to his field combat days. He works at a post office, has a girlfriend from work, and sometimes misses his past life. He's a father of three, but the youngest one had passed before Jacob went for Vietnam. One day, he starts to have some weird moments, like the feel of someone is chasing him, or seeing weird people looking at him, and goes to see his doctor who gives therapy for PTSD to Vietnam veterans. When he finds out there's no such a doctor, he realizes something is extremely wrong.
Jacob Singer is a man who his life with his wife and three kids.
Jacob Singer is a Vietnam soldier who has a near-death experience in a field combat and takes immediate treatment after surviving a helicopter crash.
All these are Jacob Singer, and we switch from view to view and trying to understand what's really going on with Jacob himself. It's like his consciousness has travelling between realities. All three of them are real, at least, the movie gives that feeling. But what's really happening is a mystery you have to see by watching the movie.
My Thoughts About The Movie
Actually this movie is hard to review without giving any spoilers, because every details of the movie are magnificent and brain-melting. All I could give you is that Jacob's ladder is a biblical stairway to heaven, and with this way, God spoke to Jacob. If you check the link, you could reach more info.
I really like how this movie change between realities. I've always been amazed with movies which have alternative reality concept, as in Back To The Future or The Butterfly Effect. But this one has tiny and beautiful pieces of psychological thrill, mixed up with a nice conspiracy. In the second part of the movie, Jacob tries to find out what's happening to him, by checking biblical explanations, and even demonology. He sees people with strange deformity, survives an assassination, and meets up with his old friends-in-arm, and they figure out that there was some sort of experimentation back in the days, and they try to find out what's really happening and who's the responsible about all this craziness.
Another reason of why I like this movie so much is, this movie is the one of the inspirational movies which causes Helmgast to create the best tabletop RPG (to me) called KULT: Divinity Lost. It's a supernatural horror RPG for adults, and if you like the movie, you should check this out aswell!
