Paid Speech on X
I absolutely 100% agree with Elon Musk on X where they've just taken away creator payouts from a whole bunch of accounts. My belief is that the accounts loosing access to
🔴 game the system;
🔴 spread obvious hateful lies (corrected much more than normal by Community Notes);
🔴 run bot armies.
However (and this appears to be a technical limmitation of X behind the scenes): if you can generate real organic people paying you directly, that should be your own business with speech within the law.
It appears that X doesn't have the systems which can separate these two payout systems.
My Payouts
I don't get much from the X system but I get a 10's of USD every couple of weeks. It's certainly not a big deal but it does mean that Premium pays for itself.
Hateful anti-Israel and anti-Jewish accounts
Every one of these particular accounts complaining about being de-monetized is anti Jewish and anti Israel.
I believe these accounts were repeatedly posting anti Jew and anti Israel propaganda in a concerted and coordinated fashion. It's quite possible they receive compensation outside of for these posts.
Anti Israel propaganda is fundamentally anti American and anti West
Decreased reach
Along with de-monetization comes decreased reach. Oh well, bad luck. I've been there with a ban for a year and perma-bans from Facebook, demonetization on YouTube all of it.
The only real truth is that nobody owns their accounts on X. You're always at the whim of the Dictator and owners of any platform.
