Yesterday it was revealed the parliamentary members of the political party MK headed by former State President Jacob Zuma pay R10K monthly for their seats. Jacob Zuma is having R560K paid into his private bank account each month under the pretense this is not for his own use, but for the MK Party funds.
I do think this number is light compared to the true figure as local members on their Provincial Legislature of which there are 78 in Natal earn more than R100k per month. The members of the MK Party have rejected this R10K monthly story stating that some give monthly gifts to their leader as a thank you.
If you believe that then you will believe anything because Zuma was n charge of the corrupt government that had a State capture enquiry. The corruption under his watchful eye was next level so with him charging his own members is not really a shocker and I would say it is definitely true.
What I did not know before is in SA it is customary for a member of parliament to pay a portion of your salary to your party coffers. This seems strange and why it caught my attention because I do not think this is how things are done in the rest of the world.
Maybe among the black parties this is how things are done as many of the parties are off shoots from the main ANC party which is corrupt. If they did it there then they would just presume it was done elsewhere. This has to be seen as a type of extortion with Zuma pimping his seats that the party wins at the elections. He earns more than the Presidents salary through his lucrative extortion methods he has arranged. There is no way this is being declared to the tax man either as this was not common knowledge or it is just over looked for who he is.
This is the other political party called EFF which Julius Malema runs. What it shows to me is the politicians are not about looking after representing their constituents ad this is all financial for themselves.
Corruption starts from the top so every politician in these parties is tainted from the outset. We know how this all works once you have paid your monthly admission fees as it opens up Aladdin's Cave which is access to the rampant corruption taking place in all areas of governance. These 2 parties are not in charge of the country ,but instead are running local municipalities which includes towns and cities.
The MK Party is in charge of the Province of Natal so being an MP would have may upsides to funding ones salary on the side. Paying R10K for your seat looks like a sweet deal if you are that way inclined and tells you this is not serving the people, but again serving themselves.
We know the current government is corrupt, but one can only imagine what will happen if Zuma's MK Party wins the next elections and how much Zuma would be making then.
