HIVE HBD At 4.92% On Staking Rewards?

I came across a site offering HBD for staking called Staking Rewards and they are offering HBD at an APR of 4.92%. You can see more about this at the end of this post.

I know many people are not that happy with the HBD APR having changed from 20% down to the current 15% which in all honesty is still very good. I get it we always want more, but we have to also think about what is good for HIVE and not just ourselves. I am not smart enough to know all the ins and outs and the effect this has on the HIVE eco system besides the HBD staking tying up HIVE.

Personally I would prefer to hold HIVE Power for what it offers myself and everyone I support along the way via curation in terms of growth. If you are earning between 8 and 10% via curation you are literally losing out on only 5%, but at the same time are growing your HIVE Power which has to be seen as a win win either way.

My aim was to one day have around 600K HBD staked which would have been earning on the old 20% $10K monthly. That number is slightly less now which would result in a $90K per year value or $7.5K monthly return. Still not bad really and if you compounded this for 2 years you would be back at earning the $10K monthly. What other stablecoin offers these types of returns and this is an internal coin meaning this stays within our own eco system which simplifies things by not having to use an external exchange.

HBD has remained out of my portfolio for good reason with the obvious one is that why are you chasing a 15% or 20% return when there is going to be a 600% plus swing difference when HIVE climbs above $1. A $3 HIVE would see a 1700% swing and why chasing a 15% or 20% APR does not make any financial sense for myself right now.

Everyone thinks differently and has different strategies in order to achieve their goals so staking HBD works for some and that is fine. I think my biggest concern is once HIVE is above $1 and there are many more users invested in HBD will we see another drop in APR because you cannot rule anything out in crypto.

Staking Rewards?

I did stumble across a site I have never heard of before called Staking Rewards which offers HBD as a staking investment. I had no idea this was even happening and I am pretty sure anyone investing with this company would have their investment on HIVE unknowingly earning 10.08% less. Has anyone else heard about this Staking Rewards site because I have not seen anyone mention this before?

600k HBD is ludicrously huge, but it's probably a futuristic plan that's not impossible.
As for the reduction, I think 15% is still huge figures and whatever is best for Hive should automatically be best for us. The target should be to make better decisions for Hive the token

It may sound huge, but is a really doable realistic figure if you just grow your stake and convert at the peak or close to it.

The listing of HIVE/HBD on their site was announced on Hive. I'm not sure if it was on the official Hiveio account or elsewhere.

You are right. If they are offering 4.92% and getting 15%, that's ripoff, not a margin of profit. I wonder in how many cases they are doing the same?

Your talk about the APR is a good point but for me I just stake HBD for the sake of simplicity. I'm a lazy investor :)

You have to admit, smart move by this site. People think they get a decent return and they still cash in +10 % on the deposits!

Thanks. That makes sense now as I was concerned.

Good for them. Bad for their users. Parasites in action.

I just sold all my HBD in savings when the APR dropped. It really helped that the price of HIVE dropped too.. now just waiting on that $1 price
