This premium bullion coin from the Royal Australian Mint depicts the pirate ship of Ching Shih.
Zheng Yi Sao (also known as Ching Shih), who was a woman who led of one of the largest, most successful and feared gang of pirates the world has ever seen. Sao’s reign as the queen of pirates was short-lived but reached heights never seen before or since. She was responsible for a great amount of terror — terror so great that China was willing to let her and her followers simply walk away as long as they would only let go of their stranglehold on the country.
