Today I wanted to celebrate the achievement of hitting 40k Hive Power!

40k Hive Power Milestone

Who would've thought, when I first joined, that I'd be getting to the thousands in terms of Hive (Steem) Power?! Never mind getting to forty thousand Hive Power! Well the other day I hit that very cool milestone!

I have been pretty excited to see the growth and trajectory of Hive, with the advent of the groundwork enhancements the dev teams have been working on building. This is definitely the place to be in terms of consistency and laying the ground work for others. It's not a fast process, because there isn't a team of 1,000 people that got seed funded by some fortune 500 company looking to harvest all of the juicy rewards and shit in the long run. I think we are kind of like an island nation, where we are doing our own great work but not looking for massive handouts from others.

The dev team is definitely taking advantage of advances in technology like Cosmos DB, allowing for a lot of improvements to go on, and eventually the latest stuff with the Hive Application Framework (HAF) it is the long game of putting the building blocks in place now for the future.

Many of us are familiar with how quickly things go from zero to a hundred. If you were around when Splinterlands absolutely went parabolic and thousands of people were signing up every day and it taking Hive to the moon in terms of activity, you know that it's crucially important to have these things in place before those things happen! Thankfully we had a lot of those foundational pieces in place ahead of that, which helped us out tremendously when the day did arrive.

At the moment we are in a bit of a lull but that's globally. There are a lot of nefarious things afoot in terms of markets and the control over them. My personal thought is this is an intentional downswing in the whole thing, to cause discord and confusion. These are the times though to focus on building and growing things in as many areas as possible! Hive Power has been one of those things for me, for sure! I've been socking away and building that Hive Power for the eventual turnaround point where I'm laying the groundwork now, for benefits in the future, whatever and wherever those may be!

I doubled down recently and sold all of my HBD, took my liquid savings that I've amassed over the last year or so, and staked it all! This brought me right on the cusp of 40k which was wonderful, and I finally surpassed it the other day. I think one of the cool things about the whole thing as well, is that my curation rewards are really picking up. I am just now crossing double digit curation rewards per day, at least one day a week! Granted I could likely do that most days if I spent all my voting power but I haven't done that yet, though I may give it a whirl.

Where the real sweet spot is in terms of the ability of Hive Power to compound and increase is now, if I give someone a 100% upvote at or near 100% of my voting power being recharged, I will be giving them a whopping TWO Hive per vote! That may sound like it's kind of stupid or silly, but if you think of it, if Hive gets to 1.00$ in price, then I can give someone 1.00$ right now, which is freaking cool! That of course takes into account the 50/50 curation reward split, where I would get 1 Hive back to me for the vote.

The other interesting thing as well for me is that now on most days per week, my Hive curation rewards are better than my post rewards, which means eventually my curation rewards will overtake my post rewards. Granted, that day is a ways off but it will eventually happen! I think that's pretty cool because it is a passive feature, in that I as well as many others follow voting trails of groups like Curangel so I get a bunch of my voting power consumed in a day, bringing in consistent curation rewards throughout the day every day.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the Hive ecosystem evolves over the next year or two, to see what directions we are able to go and how things change in terms of attitudes towards digital assets! Seeing what the digital seeds I've been planning will bring in terms of fruit!
