Happy Friday, Hive! The weekend is here and is set into motion by the Nordic goddess Frīge, who is associated with love, beauty and wisdom.
Norse shares a similar Germanic root to English. In the Romance languages, Friday refers to the better known Roman goddess, Venus. To her honor, the French call the day Vendredi, whereas the Italians call it Venerdi, and the Spanish speakers call it Viernes.
But in the Hive community, Creative Work Hour, we just refer to it as another day to hang out together in a warm, welcoming, online studio to get on with things that need doing that are expressly important to us on a personal level.
