It's funny how different cultures across space and time have different views and tolerances as to what constitutes reasonable risk. I chuckle when I see kids in another country jumping off of barges or other types of structures we would consider too risky for children AND adults. Our western cultures have changed too across the years, and I think we've become too risk averse.

I found this funny article that shows different playgrounds that look a bit dangerous:

I think of my childhood. My mother would open the back door and we'd take off for the hills. She had not idea what we did up there--swamp trolling, swinging from vines. We'd come back at the end of the day in one piece :)

We are over protective, but when you are a parent it's hard to accept danger for your children (for me anyway).

I'm glad your kids don't get injured. This kind of thing may help them in future. They might have been skilled in maybe jumping or others
Things like these are sometimes needed for a child so they can always help themselves and don't depend on others

As always, your collages and posts are thought provoking and fit into everyone’s life. So many dangers out there as your collage depicts.

As I read your post I could see in my mind’s eye, my mother anxious and worrying if her children were safe. Her feelings proved to be true for my younger 5 yr old brother was killed by a vehicle. Luckily this doesn’t happen to most overprotective parents.

I remember what happened to your brother, Kevin. I was deeply affected by the tragedies in your life. They reminded me not to worry so much because we can't control what happens.

A touch of winter already? Not here, although in parts of New York I understand they had to deal with snow. We move into hour house, if all goes well, next week. This has been hard, although we are very fortunate we can try a new adventure. Still, it's hard😄

Your collage is beautiful, and I love the way you've captured the sense of danger and excitement that children experience when they're playing. I agree that it's important for children to take risks in order to develop their confidence and resilience. I also think it's important for parents to strike a balance between protecting their children and allowing them to explore the world around them.

Greetings Lady @agmoore. Your collages are a journey of emotions. I enjoyed the daring boys on the cliff, the peace and tenderness of the water mill collage, and ends with the dynamism of the meteor shower. Thank you for this very instructive information, about the risky games. I in particular was a headache for my parents. I was very, disobedient and sometimes took the risk. The good thing is that it didn't become a big deal. Thank you for your contributions 🤗👏
