Description from Strava:
I want to get back into a good running routine and that tends to mean doing an outing when I am at work. I do not want to get up super early to do one or run in the dark when I get home. We have changing facilities and showers, but when I got there the toilet was in use and I had to go in search of another as I need to go before running. It was a bit of a walk.
It was quite a nice day and significantly warmer than my last outing so I was okay in a t-shirt. I decided to try the hill and it was really hard work. It is fairly steep and feels endless. I did walk up it a bit to catch my breath. I just hope I can build up my fitness in the next couple of months to make it a little easier.
I did start off a little quicker than my recent runs, but I am not going too crazy for now. I had a slightly different route in mind, but the curving roads made me lose my sense of direction again. It was okay as the distance was enough for now. It is mostly downhill on the way back, but there is another uphill stretch at the end.
I just need to keep this up through the year. I may even actually do a parkrun soon.
