Over the past few years, I’ve come to realize that content creation is more than a hobby; it’s a real work. Now, we’ve reached the point where many people are beginning to think about it as a study path, a career and to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised to see more educational institutions offering people the chance to receive a degree in order to succeed in the space.
We have arrived at a point where we need expertise if we want stay relevant and these days skills are our superpowers. If you have something to show the world, the world will pay attention to you. But showing the world what you've got require more than just going live on any platform. When I decided to venture into platforms such as TikTok and YouTube, I understood that having a good camera isn’t enough. What a content creator needs the most is time.
As a creator, you need time to setup your camera, prepare your content, and select the appropriate location. You also need time to organize your tools, studio (if your require one), time to write and edit up to standard. High quality content requires lots of work and sometimes additional investment to build the right tools and expertise. It has been about two years since I started my investment content creation journey.
I recently purchased a Neewer lighting system to help spice up my videos a little and this is just one of my lighting sets. For me, content creation is much more than a video or a post; it is about working to inspire people, empower others, and show about real touching stories like the community borehole projects we have done. With the support of @mcsamm, we would be sharing a lot more stories and perspectives about Hive, its impacts especially with the empowerment projects we have done in several Ghanaian communities.
Content creation these days is a business that require investment. If you intend to do it well, it will require time, effort, and even money. When we see the impressive work of famous creators, writers, filmmakers, influencers, it become obvious they invest more and put in more efforts. They don't just pour their knowledge, creativity and passion onto into their works but much more.
Content creation will require you to spend money on the best smartphones, create home studios, or undetake travel expenses to visit stunning locations to just create content. There are kinds of work that would require you to spend hours doing editing and writing tutorials. The question is, are all of these of these worth Investing? yes and that's why creators do it. As a creator making something meaningful and engaging for your audience would require an investment of time, research and deidication.
In my case, the journey hasn't been easy but worthwhile. Never did I know I’d be spending so much time writing, and money in gathering gadgets for my contents. But each piece of content I make helps me grow and get better. Hive has been a wonderful place that has made me developed this passion and followed others to learn and unlearn each time I share my thoughts.
I believe it's a journey anyone can embark with anything minimum and with some time you can grow. You don't necessarily require all before you begin, it's a journey of growth. Content creation may not be the easiest thing in the world, but the benefits are worth it. Content is more than something you enjoy doing, it is an art, a career, a way to create an impact. The potential is endless if you’re ready to commit time and energy.
