The Blockchain Hustle: How I Found Inspiration Over the Long Haul

in #hive-17687411 days ago

In my early years of content creation using the blockchain platform, there were many who got inspired by even what never inspired me. It's like others valuing what you don't value. Sounds crazy right? but I learned that's how life is, the things you don't value, others may have a way of valuing it that makes you wonder what at all have they seen.

So I would say, you are an inspiration to lots of people in many ways you never knew. I never thought the journey of writing will lead me this far, glad that I now I'm part of the revolution that's changing lives. In 2017 when I began writing, someone followed me and began writing to me for assistance on the Discord. She had learned the art of content making and was mostly vlogging.

She planned her journey towards finding financial freedom through that. When she found the blockchain then (Steemit) in the early years, it was launchpad for her. The next thing was to look for someone who was consistently writing to inspire her. She told me I inspire her a lot. I wasn't even earning lots of votes then but my consistency inspired someone.

Let's be honest, the content creation landscape today can feel a bit reward-driven. Users have wise up and now want their share of the cake from central players. Blockchain promised a revolution, but earning upvotes can sometimes be tough. It's same with different platforms though but this platform is better in terms of rewards than many centralised platforms that use different kinds of algorithms when rewarding users.

But It's natural for beginners to be motivated by the potential rewards, especially when starting fresh. The daily grind can become more about chasing that payout than pure passion. However, amidst the focus on rewards, there are those lucky enough to consistently receive some curator's upvotes, this can serve as motivation for daily writing.

But even more inspiring are the creators who write regardless of votes, I would say they may be driven by pure dedication and commitment. These are the true wellsprings of motivation for new users, so if it's about staying here long, they can greatly inspire you. Fast forward to today, and I'm still bumping into great guys I met back in 2017. Lots of them are still here, I see them year after year, doing what they love.

They remain consistent, proving that passion trumps financial gain. Great people like @steevc truly inspire me. I hope our paths cross one day in UK. Some might consider their Hive earnings meager, not enough to live on. However, I always say that before any passive income source, we had active work that sustained us. This is why viewing Hive as an investment is more of a necessity than just an option.

My exploration of Hive has revealed a world beyond just writing, lots of opportunities which you discover with consistency. While I might not be a professional in content creation, the platform keeps me engaged, improving myself each day. Whether it's through my phone or laptop, I find something useful to do with my time. These days I'm super busy, but I make time to check in and see what's happening. What started as a pursuit driven by rewards has now become something I do and enjoy now. I'm glad it has inspired others as well. I hope we can all continue to draw inspiration from each other.

Hey! I'm just a guy having fun, but if I have got anywhere on Hive it is by being active and engaging with lots of people. That is fun for me. I have been to lots of events and met people face to face (but not you yet!). I try to add value to the blockchain by connecting people and providing useful information. We cannot expect to get big rewards by churning out low value posts, but we can still have fun with that. The connections we make with people will pay off in the long run.

As I have said in recent posts, the number of active people is falling. We need to keep them engaged and it cannot be just about rewards. You have been doing some great work, but others need to do their share.

What you do here, I'm sure, inspires lots of people like me. I'm happy to meet you in person, which would be very nice. One thing that most people have never realized is how this platform can bring users from different places together. @mcsamm told me a lot about you, and it was indeed unfortunate that we couldn't meet last time in London, though we tried. Hopefully, another event will present an opportunity. It's indeed true that active users are declining, some only back downs whenever their expectations are never met. Probably due to the kind of marketing strategy and the message it sends about the blockchain. Some also still find other opportunities more interesting and engaging compared to the engagement here. Well I think there are quite several reasons why active users keep falling. Not everyone has learned that it's about value for value, those who have remained over the years and still do, have learned that. Again, I see user onboarding and retention as one tedious task, which many long-time users wouldn't consider doing. We are actively doing our part in helping newcomers, including those who have been dormant for a while now. Hopefully, things will turn around with time should others get involve, just like you are doing. I have been following and reading your stats, and I must say you are already doing well contributing your share. Well done! :)

It's good to read stories like this. It also gives me more energy to keep doing what I do. For a while now I've been focusing on the wrong goal which is looking at the number of votes and rewards however recently I've realized that it's not something that can sustain me for long.

Right now I'm trying to be more creative and doing things differently with my content creation that I'm now thinking of starting a vlog that focus on inspiring men to physically, mentally and emotionally. I see some young adults around me and I wish they could see the world like I do but I guess they cant understand me until I start putting myself out there and showing proof to people on why living right is better than trying to cut corners.

For me it's now about making an impact on the world and ensuring young men dont get lost or sell their soul in the process of trying to follow the trend of todays society. I think Hive is a big part of making me realize how much can be done and achieved when it comes to content creation.

I'm glad I could inspire you with my story. Creativity is a great key to succeeding in our digital era. Your plan to start a vlog inspiring men physically, mentally, and emotionally sounds fantastic. Your experiences and perspectives, I believe will help young adults to benefit from living authentically and avoid shortcuts. Hive has clearly inspired your creativity and ambition. Your efforts in helping others with your content I must say is commendable and sounds good. I wish you the best.Have a great weekend!

I'm glad you still have the heartbeat of inspiration inside of you as I do. I LOVE to write, and it fulfills me in ways that almost nothing else does whether I get huge upvotes or not. I just finished writing one post and have another "in the bank" for the future. I also do hope to make a permanent move to the UK someday God willing.

Having read some of your contents, I can say you pour your best out in your writing, whether you are writing to inspire, to inform or to educate. You are one of the people who look beyond just rewards and do what you love. Writing can be incredibly fulfilling and a great way to express yourself. It's inspiring to see how you do it irrespective of rewards. Those who love to stay consistent with posting on this platform always get prepared. Glad to know how you've planned for your next post. It would be nice to see you around in the UK someday, but hope you're enjoying life at where you now. Do have a lovely weekend!

I've been in hive since 2021 and I felt burnt out honestly. I knew I am not a good writer and the votes I received, not that much is what I deserve. But having not enough time for hive is what burnt me out even more. Physical life is even more demanding especially motherhood. Glad you have been to where you are now and you have inspired many.

I can understand your situation, trying to find balance in life isn't easy. Motherhood is indeed a tough time, the responsibilities can be draining. Also with Hive, it can be very demanding but worth the efforts and time. It can be demoralising to spend more time engaging and not get much out. Hope all the efforts pay someday and hope with time it will. Do have a nice weekend,!
