While growing up we all have different dreams and Goals in Life and some wishes which we wanted to fulfill. I can't remember then in elementary school we will be asked what we want to become when we grow up, I can remember saying I want to be a doctor that I can also remember saying that I want to be a president. Yeah for now, I try so much hard to study medicine but unfortunately it didn't work as planned however, I am still in medical line studying nursing. Everybody was saying their own mind and what they want to become then one of my teacher there ask us a question, which is why do you want to become that which you say you want to become?? Everybody was shock to hear that, you know as a student we are so excited joyfully saying we want to be days we want to be that but deep down we don't know much about those things at the moment, although some of us had ideas regarding to all they want to become. I'm surprised seeing the same question rephrasing itself in this week #HiveGhana weekly prompt.
Seeing a situation of country, of a truth it is beyond what one person can do (president) but I believe that he has a greater influence and power to change a lot of things that is going wrong in the country. If I by chance be given the opportunity to become the president of my country just for a day I have a lot of things I will make difference on. A country once called giant of Africa is no more the giant of the Continent. But we must strategy I believe we can still regain that name.
First, I will bring back fuel subsidy in my country, reason because with fuel subsidy the government is able to contribute or assist in taking care of fuel price in the country. Because of about 90% of the citizens makes use of fuel, and if the government can assist in this part it won't be an issue moreover government have other ways to generate funds other than removing fuel subsidy. So that is one thing I will bring back as the president. And my government will be able to assist in fuel price in the country if need be. I will ensure that fuel refineries is being gain in the country and no coal fuel natural resources will be taken out of the country all will refined and processed in my country. Regardless of me being the president I will remove the office of minister of petroleum from the president being in possession of that office.
Second, constitutional a country can be subdivided into another country if it is up to 50 years, and my country is over 56 years and counting the population of the country is a treasures compare with the resources and life supporting resources. I will subdivide the country and create other States.
Third, education is power same as knowledge. The educational status in my country is very very poor if I am to rate in a scale of 1 to 10 I will rate the educational efficiency in my country 4. It is very important for the government to look into this which if I happens to be the president I will see to enhancing promoting upgrading the level and standard of education in my country, starting from creche to high institution. The little I know about the teaching curriculum everything is arrange in a way that it is delivered when the time is due but these days in my country they don't even deliver it talk more of when the time is due. So looking into education standard will not be a bad one.
Fourth, health is life. In a country over millions population have less health care facilities. My country train and graduate over millions of nurses, doctor's, pharmacy, nutritionist and so on, but the healthcare facility is as just like not training in one. The healthcare system in my country is very very poor compared to the population of the country. I will invest more on health care system and ensure that the healthcare personnels carry out their obligations and duties and get well paid, as a matter of facts, the healthcare personnels and soldiers are supposed to be the highest paid personnel in the country.
If I am giving the opportunity to be the president of my country just for a day I will change a lot of things, a whole lot of difference will be made. My country will begin his name as a giant of Africa. The color green white green without red signifies peace but unfortunately the country is not in peace maintaining peace is one other thing the country need to obtain and that should start from security of the country and citizens as well.
