Akim, my friend, went to the farm and came back with a bag containing fresh maize. He stopped by my house and greeted me. He was happy to have come back with a harvest.
At the beginning of the planting season, I encouraged him to get a farmland and cultivate. I took him to the farmlands where I have my farms. And I helped him to secure a plot and farm. He cultivated the land and planted maize, cassava and potatoes.
Akim has not been farming before. He doesn't look like someone who would like farming. I always tried my best to encourage him in farming. Now, he has a smile on his farm as he comes back with his maize.
When we went to the farm, we went with the expectation of a harvest. The harvest is what makes our joy full. We labour with hope and expectation. We endure the pains and spend money in hopeful anticipation that some day the harvest shall come.
The harvest time has come for some of our three months crops. These include the maize, potatoes, okras, vegetables and melon. Many people have harvested some of their crops. The early maize planted in April/May is being harvested now. Harvest has arrived.
