As the heavy granite rocks tower up above the tree lines, hiking to the top you get welcomed with almost a 360 degree view around. You can see out to Georgian Bay one direction and kilometers of tree lined lakes patched out over more granite. There is a multi day backwoods trail you can do all the way around the park or you can do a day hike up to the top of the famous Crack. It's an hour or two to get to the top. 3-5 hrs return.
The path is through forested floors, before it reaches the rock face that comes jutting out. It's a scramble and climb, and kinda unmarked. Up is the direction. lol In the crack, even in the heat of the day, the rocks still retain the chill of the night.
