Berwick upon Tweed 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Train 🚂 Station SMASh

Hello Hello Hivians

Hello Hello shadow hunters and hello hello to all you sunny positive people of the wonderful Hive blockchain.....

It's my first summer shadow hunt!

You might be scoffing now, as in how can you hunt shadows when you are on the fluffing way home via train!

Well, I shall tell you, the sun was out and it was a glorious Summer's day in June a couple of weeks ago.

Actually it was not a planned hunt, but isn't that the way, often the best things in life are planned.

Today is an outdoors shadow hunt... and was on 16th June 2024.

We were at a train station waiting for a train ...

Noooo, not that one silly, a real one! Although the LNER was the company of the train provider. We have a few here, I am guessing you do too?

So actually we were in Berwick upon Tweed in the North of England and waiting for a train to take us back to Fife in Scotland.

That is the view from platform 2 and a bonnie view it was too!

I think that was Berwick castle, long since it became a ruin. Do you fancy a bit of freefall in height ....

That is the railway bridge across the river Tweed. We are on a level of the top of the bridge. If you look carefully at the bottom pillars on the right you can see some ruins, so those are the castle ruins and it went all the way over the full height of the viaduct. Is that the correct term for a bridge like that?

That photo did not do the weather justice!

But today we had sun and of course sun means shadows....

Actually if I am being honest, then it is not until I looked at this picture after I took it with Mrs T's phone, that I noticed the cool and funky shadows.

So I took a couple more to have a play around and see what I liked!

The first pic seemed to crop things too much, so this one has the whole of the cottage in the left....

Ah now this is much more aesthetically pleasing to my eye now!

It was the shadow on the ground from the light pole that got my attention the first time...

Then all of a sudden

This fluff off big train came hurtling past me !!!

I had to have a seat and take the weight off my wobbly legs!

Well what do know, more shadows and they are holy shadows! How about that.....

By now they had announced our train. Platform 2, time to rock n roll!

They have one of these fancy screens with zone numbers corresponding to train carriage letters.

It was a very long train and as it turned out, our carriage was not far from where we were standing.

Of course now I was in shadow hunting mood and lo and behold the glass and wood lattice structures gave for some more interesting shadows, do you see them on the left?

So there you go, we are looking at the roof shadows on the ground!

And yes can you see it in the distance?

Our train was fast approaching ....

All aboard

I told you we were almost at the right place, well by the time it stopped, our doors were right in front of us!

By the way do you remember the train planter with flowers in the LNER decals and colours, well this is a real LNER train, doesn't it look similar!

Train travel, I won't lie, I fluffing love it!

But now, decisions, decisions, decisions!

Yes it's that time for me to choose my entry picture!

So here 👇👇👇 is my entry for Show Me A Shadow - Round 327

I have chosen this picture because you are immediately drawn to the criss cross roof shadows on the stone platform walkway. I choose one where the train is not the subject of the photo.

After all we shadow hunting, and that should be the focus of the picture!

I never know which picture to choose as the entry, and these ones are quite varied to say the least!

What do you think? Did I pick the suitable one, or would you have chosen another one?

Really great shadows! That castle looks like it was abandoned long ago. I wonder what it looked like in all it's glory? That bridge is really cool!
