Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
We are taught the doctrines of Jesus Christ so that we could live our lives to please God. We are taught so that we can be the kind of person He expects us to be. We are taught so that we may be able to overcome sin, the world and the devil and live holy as we wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are taught the doctrines so that we could know how to conduct ourselves in the household of God which is the church. We are taught so that we could know how to do good to our fellow men. We are taught the doctrines so that we may be able to differentiate between the false doctrines which are spread abroad by false teachers. We are taught so that we could be true disciples of Jesus Christ.
Psalms 14:1 (KJV) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Many people despise the teachings of the doctrines of Jesus Christ. They refuse to acknowledge the existence of God. They count us as fools because we believe in Jesus Christ. Such people are only toying with their destiny. There is a God in heaven who rules in the affairs of men. He is the God who created the entire universe. He is God without any argument.
1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Let us submit ourselves to listen to and obey these doctrines which are taught to us. When we reason it with the Word of God in the Bible, we will surely see that those are nothing but the truth.
