The image of God is righteousness. It is love. And it is holiness. When God created, he did not create us with emphasis on our physical body. His emphasis was on our spiritual being. God is a spirit. God does not have soul and body. So being in the image of God is not about my physical appearance.
1 John 4:8 (KJV) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
God is Love. He created us in His image meaning we were created as love beings. We are children of love. We were created to love. When we love people, we are exhibiting the nature of God in us. People of the world, who do not know God, cannot love.
1 Peter 1:15-16 (KJV) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
God is a righteous God. Righteousness is the nature of God. God is a God of justice. We His children must be righteous in every thing we do. Righteous people do not commit sin. We should not commit sin. We should live in holiness. We should show forth the righteousness of God in every way.
