Obedience to God's Will (Part 2 of 2)
Here is another “Ask Bro Eli, the Bible will answer” edition; in this series, I was learning part 2 of “Obedience to God’s Will.” Bro. Eli shared a thoughtful question – “What are we going to do in order to obey the will of God?” Just as earlier said in part 1, the answer is simple – “Keep His commandment.” When you keep God’s commandment, you are obeying His Will; it is the whole duty of man (Ecclesiastes 12:13).
In Galatians 6:2, the Bible says:
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (NIV)
According to Bro. Eli, fulfilling the law of God is not the 10 commandments in the Old Testament. Jesus came with a new law that is according to God’s will; in our dispensation, it is not the 10 commandments that are enforced. Therefore, believers must align with these laws; from Bro. Eli's statement: “It is an opportune time for all of us to learn the will of God at least before we die.”
According to Hebrews 9:27, every man will certainly die:
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (KJV)
Furthermore, Bro Eli said: if it is inevitable for us to die, let us die with hope. With hope that before dying we have obeyed the will of the Father by keeping the law and teaching them. Some day it is believed that we will be awake with Him in the resurrection in paradise.
Finally, Bro Eli concluded by admonishing the listeners to follow the will of God by obeying His commandments. To learn more about the Bible, you can join the daily Bible study on “Old Path” Youtube channel.
