John 8:31-32 (KJV) Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
True disciples are those who do what the doctrine says.
It is not enough for us to claim that we are members of the church of God. It is not enough for us to make our attendance by listening to the teachings of the doctrines. It is not enough for us to be named among the followers of Jesus Christ. It is not enough for us to own our own Bibles. We must be doers of the doctrines we are learning if we must be counted as true disciples of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 7:21 (KJV) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
There are many who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ all over the world. The world has been saturated with believers in Jesus. The issue isn't on those who are Jesus followers. The issue is on the true disciples of Jesus Christ.
Then Are You My Disciples Indeed
Jesus said that when we continue in doing what we learned from the word of God, we will be His disciples indeed. Doing the teachings that we are receiving is what will give us approval before God. We must obey the doctrines as we are listening to them.
To Guide Our Conducts
1 Timothy 3:15 (KJV) But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
The doctrines is to coordinate our conducts everywhere we find ourselves. We are to be guided by the commandments of God. The way we engage in our businesses must be controlled by the teachings of the doctrines which we are receiving. The way we relate with our spouses must be guided by the teachings of the doctrines that we are taught.
To be true disciples, we must be doers of the doctrines of Jesus Christ
Matthew 28:20 (KJV) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
